At least Latham seems to be a beast. How the frick is his overall grade significantly lower than both his pass and run block grades though? Did he get flagged for something that killed a drive I'm not remembering?

I assume it is because of his 2 false starts but I'm not really sure. He had 2 pretty rough false starts on the same drive early on at some point.

Offensive Line
- 7 Pressures (Dalcourt 4, Steen 2, Randolph 1, Ekiyor 0, Latham 0)
- 5 QB Hurries (Dalcourt 2, Steen 2, Randolph 1, Ekiyor 0, Latham 0)
- 2 QB Hits (Dalcourt 2)
- 0 QB Sacks
Right side of the line did a pretty nice job in pass pro - basically no pressure (per PFF at least) the entire game. The biggest issue was pressure up the middle, which for a guy as small as Bryce and with a stagnant straight dropback pocket as a big, big problem.
In addition to that, we tried 9 runs through the right and left A gaps (between C and RG and C and LG) : 9 runs, 24 yards, 2.67 YPA. Dalcourt just got abused the entire day, basically. And that collapsed our offense.

Their grading system is so stupid. A couple of early false starts really shouldn't knock basically 10 points off of a guy's game score when he was otherwise completely dominant in every facet of the game. It's not like he got flagged for holding twice in the 4th quarter.

How tf is Dalcourt better than McLaughlin? I want to see it

Moore on a blitz had a great chance at sacking the UT QB deep in Texas territory but shite the bed.

I’m waiting for Seth McLaughlin to be reinserted at center.

Card was hobbled but his ability to escape was frustrating for sure. Just had a sense of the rush.

Their inputs, generally, seem pretty decent. Their "formula" to get grades is completely asinine. Hell, the fact that they don't even offer an "opponent adjusted" type grade and openly publish their grades and rankings based on them as if they are...........I just don't get it.
Regardless, if you dig deep enough you can get the specific inputs, and those show that Latham had a damn good day.

Another positive takeaway - Arnold played very well. I wonder how much longer Jackson has between his play, the emergence of Arnold and what I expect will be a push from Ricks and he get smore comfortable and healthy.
Guy just seems like a taller KeCalf Bailey. Always around the ball and always looking up at the WR catching it over his head.

I'd like to see Dalcourt try his hand at Guard. He's big and the coaches like him. But he isn't as quick as Seth at center.

It will be interesting to see what combinations we see up front this weekend. I would be shocked if they don't use Saturday as a chance to test out some stuff with different combinations and try to narrow it down to 2-3 before Vanderbilt, use Vanderbilt as the final test and then try and settle of a final 5 before Arkansas.

The coaches have always been enamored with Dalcourt and I just don't get it. We had a run of fantastic center play from Jones to Kelly to Bozeman to Dickerson, and Dalcourt just isn't even in the same realm as any of those guys.

And with the fact that McLaughlin came in last year and played really solid football the last 3.5 games of the year (well, Auburn/UGA/Cincy - he struggled the 2nd UGA game).

I think Jackson does a good job in run support. He is a hitter. If we weren't already stacked at safety I'd like to see him play there, ala Eddie Jackson, who became one of the best safeties we've had.

I cannot comprehend how Dale is given higher grades compared to the others when he loses the point of attack every snap he’s in

I wonder how he would look at safety. He's very physical but once the WR gets off the line, he gets passed pretty quickly.

I'll give him a pass on the second Georgia game because they had one of the best defenses ever. He may be one of those guys who doesn't practice well but shines when the lights come on.
