Cole Cublic said he was surprised at how Dalcourt got pushed around by TX

Slow, white, with a bum knee, and Card still broke free a couple of times. The little Ga QB will kill us if we dont improve on the D line.

- 0 QB Sacks
Bryce was sacked twice during the game...so I'm guessing this means that those 2 sacks were not attributed to anyone on the OL? I'm guessing both were attributed to backs not picking up the blitz? I know Gibbs appeared to miss one assignment not sure 'bout the other...

I'm guessing they're considering the other a coverage sack, he had 5+ seconds and then the pocket collapsed with the LE getting to Young.

Did we learn nothing from last year? OL sucked with Dalcourt at center and as soon as Seth started playing they magically improved by no small amount. Communication was better, missed assignments went down, etc. I know Seth is a little smaller and won't get the push in the run game we want, but the dude is smart and can get us in the right protections and prevents negative plays. Am I crazy?

I assume so - I do think one was definitely a coverage sack. I was surprised not to see Gibbs credited with a hurry or sack on the play you referenced, though.

I'm a total novice on offensive line play so I try not to hot take too hard on it, but it did seem from watching games and listening to the coaches talk about him that Seth did a nice job with those things last year. He clearly stabilized things against Auburn.
As Robot said above, the staff seemed to really like Dalcourt. They know a lot more than me, but my untrained eye has never seen it.

In addition to that, we tried 9 runs through the right and left A gaps (between C and RG and C and LG) : 9 runs, 24 yards, 2.67 YPA. Dalcourt just got abused the entire day, basically. And that collapsed our offense.
I don't understand it. Dalcourt must check all the boxes to meet Coach Saban's requirements because he's certainly not getting it done on the field.

Arnold played very well. I wonder how much longer Jackson has between his play, the emergence of Arnold and what I expect will be a push from Ricks and he get smore comfortable and healthy.
Worthy certainly abused Jackson on several occasions but how much do you think the improvement in coverage had more to do with Texas QB injuries?

I think I've seen Jackson on enough balls where he is step for step with a guy that I know what he is at this point.

Do you remember me saying Terrion Arnold helped shrink the field? Which limited Texas big play ability.
I've also been saying that Khyree Jackson is a free safety but how does our coaching staff not know that?
Multiple posters mentioned that he's very similar to Eddie Jackson which he is. He's a little stiff (hips) but Khyree is very instinctive and loves to come down hill.

A perfect throw beat Khyree Jackson!
They took Khyree Jackson out of the game on defense but he didn't pout.
Khyree turned around and destroyed Worthy on punt coverage.

Agree with both of those things.

There's no way Dalcourt is better! Jordan Davis would of ate Dalcourt's LUNCH!

Was he also beaten on the play in which Worthy dropped the ball in the back of the end zone? He was WO on that play.

Objectively the coaches have looked at the film many times by now. If Dalcourt stays at his position it’s purely on the coaches at this point and you guys know I don’t say that lightly. The best player should play at the position. My eye test says Seth is better and has played better, maybe it’s purely practice? Similar to the Brooks thing? Brooks is a gamer, simply put. He might suck at practice though.

We talking about practice?
Posted on 9/13/22 at 10:21 pm to Syd
Yeah maybe Dalcourt practices better? Same for Brooks maybe he is just a gamer with the lights on. Dalcourt being the opposite.

LG - Kendall Randolph (66.3, 79.9, 63.0) (36)
LG - Javion Cohen (56.6, 66.4, 51.7) (27)
Since this swap was made the drive after that calamity in the end zone that wasn't a safety, I would have assumed it was over Randolph's passblocking(it was his man that got to Bryce) and/or going pass heavy the rest of the way.
Cohen looked off, he was either stiff or was frequently gassed. I'm aware of his personal struggles, just noting how he looked on the field.
