So, We just need to win rest of the games or TAMU to lose one more game before we go to SEC Championship. We owe tiebreaker over TAMU.

Maybe it's just a habit, but it's just impossible for me to think that TAMU can run the table.

I could see Auburn giving them trouble and OM forcing them into a shootout. They'll beat USCjr, UTk, and LSU easily.

This season has started to take on many of the traits that LSU's season went through last year.

“But the way we played the game today is you’re begging them to run the ball, basically. I don’t think you can play that way against most teams, but I think the confidence that the players gained from going out there and getting the shutout in this day and age is a real positive thing for the defense.

True enough, most teams have a running game even if they run some version of the air raid. You can also play out of the Nickle and zone up. You can drop an extra safety down where an ILBer once stood. Frankly, you can do almost anything that your imagination lets you accomplish.

I just watched Steel dismantle LSU's running game to the tune of about 30 rushing yards with no Marlon Brown, no Davidson on the front. They created 3 turnovers that led to 3 TDs. In that Coach Saban mentioned looking at teams who had prior success scheming the dawgs, I dearly hope he takes a hard look at Kevin Steele's work this weekend vs LSU. And guess what? He was playing a lot of man to man. But there was nothing bend but don't break about it.

I’ve been saying all season and stuck by it that the defense will improve and I’m proud of those guys and Golding has took some well deserved flack, but he is stepping up.

Saban has been saying the last few weeks that we were improving and that seems to be the case

I still don’t believe that Golding is calling the defense now. Something has changed since that rumor came out

It still looks like Golding is making the calls to me. Nothing schematic has changed with our defense. We're just tackling better and getting more penetrarion by the interior DL.

Tim Smith is a man child. He needs to play as much as possible. Getting him to sign out of Florida last year was a massive coup. Game wrecking defensive linemen are a rare commodity.

liking what I see from our D. But Ark showed us how to play the MSU and the OM O. Some of the younger guys are getting better. I still see 32 making bad reads and not getting better. Someone in the booth may be helping more with calls and Golding calling them in from the sidelines.

We played MSU by rushing 3 most of the night.

I think people are terrified, and with good reason, of complementing Golding if it means he'll be the 2021 defensive coordinator.

A great gameplan was made and executed well by the players and coaches. Yes there's a lot of film out there on how to dissect Leach's offense running heavy zone, but they still had to go out there and perform.

I don’t think Golding is calling the shots anymore. Saban is allowing him to save face and will quietly move him on after the season. There was some chatter before the UGA game that Charles Kelly has taken over play calls. I’d say him or Strong, but the difference has been noticeable.

I think this strictly comes from the report Kelly would be helping Golding with the defensive gameplan...if Saban wasn't available for UGA.

Nah, the chatter I heard was before Saban and the Covid thing. Based on how quickly we switched from press man only to primarily zone, not to mention our tackling improving, etc...I just believe something drastic has changed and I can only think of one thing.

Ray has a hyperextended elbow. Good chance he’s back for LSU.

his arse needs to quit jumping offsides. NS gave him an ear full as he did it twice while lining up over the ball. Sit the pine young man.

He's not going to sit on the bench for jumping off sides. Barmore had a critical off sides against Georgia and he's still in the rotation. Last night was a great coaching moment for Saban. Smith is a beast and will be even more if he's disciplined. Smith is only a true freshman and didn't go through spring practice. His upside is terrific.
