I am not sold on Golding as DC. He called the plays last year supposably after Tosh couldn’t cut it. We don’t have that fire and aggressiveness we did under Pruitt. I think Saban D is somtimes to complicated. We just need to let the players play, and use their athleticism. We got dudes.

Agreed. Rich Rod and a freshman QB out coached and out played him yesterday.

Not sure how you can say that when it was 45-10 in the third quarter.

All the stats that happened in the 4th quarter will not count in advanced stats. At that point the game is officially considered garbage time and the metrics stop counting them as being significant.

But don't tell LSU fans that.

We’re starting two freshmen at ILB.

I'm disappointed with how we finished as well, and I sure as hell know Saban is too, but come on. After a lackluster first quarter, the defense clamped down on Ole Miss and allowed our offense to score 31 unanswered points to close out the half. The score was 45-10 before Ole Miss got to their feet and started moving the football again. By that point the game was over.

Exactly.

I don't know how any person who's watched football longer than 3 years cannot understand it's Jimmie's and Joes, not so much X's and O's...

Bad thread

Aren't we starting two freshman on the line as well with Ray out?

LSU won’t roll over and play dead when we go up 14-10. That game yesterday was the same alarm siren Arkansas should have been last year: an overmatched team with a good offensive mind found weak spots in the defense to probe and poke successfully before the Bama staff responded and slowed it down. I don’t think we really ever figured out how to stop it cold, our superior athletes took over. What happens when the team doing the exploiting is not athletically inferior? We’ve got problems and we’d better get them fixed and quickly. That trip to College Station is looking a little worrisome: an athletic, mobile QB who can throw at times with a pretty talented supporting cast.

You realize they haven't implemented the full defense so the younger players can play faster?

There weren't that many exotic blitzes yesterday.

They are gradually implementing the playbook. By the end of the season it'll be light years ahead of where they are now. The upside of Lee, Harris, Dale and Barmore are probably bigger than any young players on defense in recent history at Bama.

I think the coaches know better than you sitting at home on your couch.

They weren’t athletically inferior. Their QB runs like a 4.4. They have SEC caliber players in other positions. Just because we have a team full of 5 stars doesn’t mean that other teams suck and trip over their own feet and such.

Did we do some stupid stuff? Yeah, got sucked inside a few times. However, we got experience. We also have an off week. The freshmen are going to get better.

We just need to make adjustments and should be fine.

Charles Kelly before Jeremy Pruitt comes back needs to work with Golding

By gaining half their total yards and two of their touchdowns on the last few drives against Bama reserves when trailing by 5 TDs?

Ok, let's hope he gets outcoached like that every single week.

Listen, kid, if you've been watching college football longer than 6 months, you know that potential...what you call "upside"...is only that and nothing more until it's fulfilled.

Saban was very unhappy with the defense's performance yesterday. Is he just some guy sitting on his couch?

We all hope the defense will attain its potential. You assume it will happen. Many of us choose to have an optimistic wait and see attitude.

You're a moron if you think somehow that makes you a more informed fan.

As long as he's been watching Alabama football...probably 18 months.

And two true freshmen at ILB. And another true freshman in the secondary in Dime.

The D this week is likely the youngest defense that has ever taken the field in Alabama uniforms. It's going to take a long time to bring that many guys up to speed.

Yeah, a lot of the defense is young but there were also rumors that CNS was sniffing around Dave Aranda and Jimmy Lake at UW to come to Bama to be the DC after last season. CNS knows he Golding has some real deficiencies.
