Hey guys! I'm an Illinois native that has been an Alabama fan for years, and I have never been to a game at Bryant Denny. I've always wanted to, it's definitely a bucket list item of mine, but distance and cost have always been obstacles that have prevented me from making it to a game. I'm hoping to finally remedy that this year. I'm planning on going to the game against Tennessee in October.

I'm asking a couple things: Firstly, assuming price is not a major factor (I'm definitely not wanting to get nosebleed seats but not trying to spend a grand on each ticket either), where is the best section to get a ticket that will give me the best value for my money? Secondly, any recommendations on places to eat or things to do around town before or after the game? Lastly, any suggestions on where is the best place to park for the game? I know there are a lot of different options, just curious what people with actual experience going to the games might suggest.

Thanks in advance!

Anywhere in the lower bowl is pretty good seating IMO. I'd try to get row 5 or higher. If you don't have tickets prior to getting there, you can usually buy them at a decent price outside of the stadium.

Bryant Museum is a must see if you've never been.

You can park at University Mall and catch the shuttle to the South end of the stadium for 10 bucks. Have to have cash.

Sort of envious of you getting to experience your first game. I remember that feeling.

I park near the bus transit station and either pay the dollar to get dropped off near the stadium or walk since it's not really that far. For the most part, it's pretty hassle free.

I'm cheap, I park in the parking lot by Chewy's and walk. My wife complains about the walk, but it's good exercise and you don't have to sit in traffic. After the game you can walk to BurgerFi or Full Moon. I'm looking forward to this season, my daughter has an apartment behind the new Tutwiler parking deck.

Park in the lot across from the hospital and in front of East Edge apartments. It’s always been $20 when I’ve parked there, so what others have suggested are cheaper. But I like not having to deal with getting on a bus or anything.

That lot also will put you short walking distance to the Bryant Museum which is a must see for your first time. Also across from Bryant Museum, you can see the Mal Moore practice facility, Coleman, and Sewell Thomas- every major athletics facility we have other than Rhodes for softball.

Walk down Bryant from that area towards the stadium. You’ll get to pass some of the massive Greek houses. Then go past BDS and grab a burger from Rama Jamas for lunch.

Rama Jamas has a bunch of cool historic gear in it, good burgers, right beside the stadium, and it’s a spot players, commentators, and coaches have eaten.

After that, go in front of the stadium for the Walk of Champions. The walk itself starts I think 2:15 before kick, but the statues and plaques on and around the walk are more interesting than the walk itself.

Cross University to the quad and check out Denny Chimes and all the former captains handprints then just experience the tailgating around it. I’d recommend watching Elephant Stomp in front of Gorgas Library about an hour before kickoff then head with the band to the stadium to catch all of the pregame videos inside.

That is what I’d recommend from a fan perspective, and what I’d want to experience if I only got to go to BDS once. If you want more of the gameday party experience, my recommendations are probably different.

Being from Tennessee, that’s a game I’m always at. If my friends and I setup a tailgate, I’d happily welcome you. We’re all early 20s though, so maybe not the crowd you want to hang out with

If you meet a poster named FleshEatingSalsa...Kiss him and make out with him in the elevator at BDS and you get the rights to become a mod.

I'm back. I'm here all week folks.

for 20 bucks you can park at Central HS and walk. It is probably half mile to 1 mile to the stadium. You will be able to get out quicker parking here unless you plan on staying and tailgaiting.

Most seats I have had are good but the closer to the field is not where I like to watch the game. You have a much better vantage point of seeing the play open up if you are not down too close.

If you want a truly good game day experience, park up toward town off Univ. Blvd. and walk down Univ. Blvd. until you get to the stadium. You'll get the real atmosphere of "SEC football down South"...the folks you'll see on that little walk will be memorable.
Finally, wait to buy your ticket AT the stadium...the scalpers are normally on the sidewalks leading up to the stadium.

You should be able to get good seats for under 60 bucks a pop to that one. My favorite seats are uppers between the 20s row 7ish and down or lower bowl between the 20s around mid-high on the rows. Low row lower bowl sucks IMO.

I'll take your word for it as I've never been, but just curious why you feel that way? As an outsider, you'd think the closer you are to the field, the better it would be. If indeed the closer rows are worse, then I'm glad I asked because I probably would have tried to find something in the first few rows, lol.

You can't see shite and you have no depth perception. Get seats in the first 10 rows of the West upper deck.

It's about 0.65 miles from the stadium. After the game, you can be out of town within 10 minutes if you head south on 10th Avenue. Very little traffic goes that route.

You'll get a lot of different recommendations, but here are mine.

where is the best section to get a ticket that will give me the best value for my money?

Lower bowl, on the west side. If it's a 2:30 game, the east stands face the afternoon sun, and it can be brutal on a clear fall day. Upper deck on the west side is also acceptable, and will be a little cheaper, but I prefer to be in the first 10-15 rows.

Secondly, any recommendations on places to eat or things to do around town before or after the game? Lastly, any suggestions on where is the best place to park for the game?

I'll combine these two, and say to park downtown. Lots of different restaurants and bars to choose from, and if you get there early enough, a lot of the parking is free. There are golf cart companies that can shuttle you to campus, or you can walk. It's a shade under a mile to the stadium from downtown.

I watched us play Tennessee two years ago and it was 120$ for two tickets outside the stadium. And I’m pretty sure I over paid. It’s not as expensive as you may think and Tennessee is a great game. I’ve never seen more genuinely happy people to beat someone’s arse for the umpteenth time in a row than I seen that day. People say that rivalry is dead but it’s absolutely not.

Good choice for a first game. Get ready, you’re going to be wowed.

I’d stay in Birmingham and drive down the morning of the game. Give yourself plenty of time to see the Bryant museum and tailgate. Staying in B’ham gives you more choices for less money and if you leave early enough there will be few if any traffic problems.

Definitely avoid upper deck east side seats if it’s a day game unless you want to be slow roasted. Upper west wouldn’t be too bad. If it’s a day game, it will be HOT barring unusual weather. Prepare yourself and hydrate accordingly.
