do you get on I-10 East then exit again on Baldwin Beach Express?

I haven't been to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach in 5 years or so but I always just followed 59. I'm not sure what GPS will tell me to do when I get there but google maps says the quickest route is 59 to I-10 east to Baldwin Beach express, then Foley Beach express, right on 8, then left again on 59.

I realize you're missing Loxley, Summerdale, and Foley, but is it really much faster?

Follow 59 so you can stop at Lambert's and get a
"throwed roll".

Beach Express will drop you off in Foley and save you about 10-15 minutes. Then follow 59 he rest of the way to GS.

Off season, not much faster. If you do wind up taking the express just watch your speed.

I wouldn't really bother with all that, especially this time a year. That's a lot of extra turns and miles to maybe save a minute or two. Traffic shouldn't be too bad so I'd just take 59 the whole way if you're going to Fort Morgan. If you were going to Orange Beach or to Gulf Shores east of the Hangout than the express would be the way to go.

I live in OBAL...

The route you posted is fine and will avoid the toll bridge.

The easiest route is:

From I10 Take the Baldwin Beach Express, then turn left onto the Foley Beach Express, follow it all the way to Canal Rd (pay the toll). Go right on Canal towards Gulf Shores. Stay on Canal and it will take you all the way to Hwy 180 which is also Fort Morgan Hwy.

That is the easiest route. YES, taking the express is faster.

Let me know if you have questions or need suggestions while in town.

This. But don't take the Express all the way to the toll bridge. Turn right at SR 12 or 8(either one works) to 59, and it spits you out just south of Foley.

Family has a place in Ft Morgan and that's the way we go every time.

Negative, traffic on 59 sucks all year. The FBE is a lot easier and faster.

I've owned a couple of beach condos at PCB but recently sold the last one I owned, in part due to because it's getting so crowded there or maybe the older I get it just seems like it. I want to check out a few places at Ft. Morgan and Dauphin Island, as well as Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. I may hit all you guys up later for more feedback about those places. I've never been to Dauphin Island, and though a beach cottage would be cool in some ways, I'm kind of concerned about storm surge and the effects on the pilings of the beach cottages.

This is a good option to avoid the toll. He could even go further on the FBE, take the right on CR 4 right before the toll and follow it around to 59.

With GPS and map apps on cell phones it makes it easier to take the alt routes.

Wrangler, you're right of course. But John might not be in a hurry. And that baw needs a throwed roll.

If he wants a throwed roll from Lamberts he should still take the FBE, just take a right on CR 20 by the new OWA development and it will take you right to Lamberts.

Avoids Loxley, Robertsdale, and north Foley. That stretch of 59 sucks.

Negative, you hit it between 2:30 and 5:00 this Saturday and you'll breeze plum through.

Beach Express is way faster in the Summer, but I’m not sure how much faster it is this time of year. My family and I stay in Ft. Morgan every summer. We take the beach express all the way from I-10 to Orange Beach and then take Canal Road over to Hwy 59 cut across 59 to the Fort Morgan Road.

I have a place 6 miles from the fort. You will love it there if you want peace and quiet. 20 minutes back to Gulf Shores,, if you need to go there for anything. Do not bother with Dauphin Island. Total shite hole.

I take 59 for some nostalgia every now and then when I head over for the weekends and usually don't have much trouble in the winter/fall, but you're there every day so I'll defer to you

Havent been on this board in a while. Accidentally clicked and figured I see what yall had going here , 59 sucks all year, they just keep adding lights.

Spacewrangler is correct. Beach Express to CR 4, you come out right by target and the airport. its the last road for BE. Have a house in Craft Farms, which is on 4, but even when not headed to the house right away(taking boat to dock) Waze usually has me go CR 4, sometimes CR8, but just depends on traffic on 59 from CR8 to CR4
