Not forgotten by us old folks, but the 1984 Iron Bowl is well worth watching.
One of the few true upsets in the rivalry. Auburn was ranked 11th. Bama was 4-6 and guaranteed it’s first losing season since Ears.
Game had everything including a late game goal line stand.

#17 Ala vs #6 Ark, '92 SEC Semi's at the BJCC.
~~ March 14, 1992 (Saturday) ~~
#9 Kentucky beat #23 LSU earlier in the day and their fans didn't want any part of Ark so they were pulling for the Tide. Best game I've ever seen in person. First year in the SEC for the Hogs and they had a crazy amount of fans in town. I walked up outside the venue where they were Calling the Hogs in the rotunda about an hour before the first game, pretty cool, had never seen that before.
BJCC was pretty rowdy. Ala had barely beaten Fla the night before, 62-60 (Robinson, 29).
Day had 39, Robinson 26, Horry 22, Spree 17. The rest of the Ala team shot around 60% that day. Cedric Moore and Darby Rich were a combined 6-8 that day, didn't say that much/ever. Spree hit 2 five footers in the last 90 seconds that were clutch. Hollywood didn't miss in the 2nd half (7-7) but the assist was bigger. Andre Perry broke his foot in that game. Rich had a huge rebound and assist inside 5 minutes.
'Robinson to Washington for 3' (1:25:00 mark on the link)> game over!

This was Wimp's last SEC win.
This was the same tourney where Shaq and Dale Brown tried to fight Tennessee and got booted out early, game was delayed a good while. Kentucky routed the Tide on Sunday and lost to Duke a few weeks later in Philly in that classic. Ala beat Stanford and then lost in the round of 32 vs. UNC the next weekend. Ark lost to Memphis St after beating Murray St in the round of 64. LSU lost to Indiana in the round of 32 the next week. All 4 semi final teams won at least one ncaa game.

Goodness what a talented team that was.
Hollywood, Horry, Sprewell, young Caffey plus a bunch of other solid college players

I sold programs at Legion Field so I could make $15 and get into the game free. LOL. Did the same for the kick. Good times.

If you have never watched it, go back and watch the 78 Sugar Bowl. That's old school grown arse man football. It won't excite you with a bunch of points, but it's a damn slugfest in a phone booth for sure.

This is the first Iron Bowl I can remember watching where I was vested in the outcome. Gonna fire it up here in a few. Don't think I've watched it, other than highlights, since it first aired.

1984 Iron Bowl. Classic wrong way Bo game.
AU supposed game winning TD play on 4th & goal from the 1 yard line. The play was designed for Brent Fullwood with Bo leading the way as lead blocker.
Problem was Brent went around right end, Bo went to the left end.
Bama goal line stand & an upset victory, keeping AU from winning the SEC & out of the Sugar Bowl.

1994 vs. Georgia. Maybe this is just a personal favorite, but it was one of the first games I saw in person my freshman year. Big rainstorm, big comeback. The cups were flying that night!

The 2002 at Knoxville Tennessee streak breaking win was a life saving game. We had not tasted victory in that rivalry since 1994. The 2001 Iron Bowl and that 2002 Tennessee game were Franchione’s only worth a crap wins. The Tennessee game made us love the squeaky voiced, silly, portly, Italian prick then he bailed on us.
ETA: 2002 at Arkansas was a great game and 2002 @ LSU. I misspoke.

It should be considered a small miracle by the vatican that we beat Auburn in Bo Jackson’s junior and senior seasons.

The nacho eating guy is a.Tigerdroppings Bama fan legend. I wonder if he knows that? I’m glad I can’t go to any games I’d be mortified to end up a GIF or Meme. Some camera person you anger or any a-hole with a smartphone.
