Ty was fine on deep balls until he got banged up around the Mizzou and Tennessee games.

I say this as someone who thinks he was the best intermediate passer in the country before his injury: we were one of the worst deep ball teams in P4 last season even before he got hurt based on analytics.

Maybe he would've figured it out with more snaps when healthy but it was never even average and was a reason along with the run game that other teams made us grind out drives, they could bring the safeties up and blitz when needed because we never hurt them for it.

I question Austin Mack from a short to intermediate standpoint with regard to accuracy, but his deep ball was head and shoulders better based on what we've seen to date.

Yep. DeBoers entire offense depends on completing the deep ball especially when you arent running it well organically.

Hitting the deep ball would have at least helped our poor running game.

Obviously a good running game will help the deep ball as well, so hopefully we are a little better at both this season.

I dont think so because of some of the comments DeBoer has made this off-season.

If O line is that pathetic again in the running game he will look pretty stupid.

Hes as much as said that he is perfectly capable of coaching a good running game and that physicality at the line is a clear point of emphasis.

You can’t listen to this staff in the offseason. They’re positivity pumpers. You aren’t going to get frank assessments like with Saban.

like with Saban.

Saban ain't coming back... Those days are over.... Let it go... There's more than one way to skin a cat....
Deboer is a GOOD COACH who in his second YEAR has beaten Kirby twice, went to the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP, won a CFP game with a severely hampered QB and an awful run game...

The Saban era is OVER & many are going to feel really stupid WHEN Deboer wins a National Championship.... Roll Tide

I feel like there is/was a bit of a learning curve between Washington and coming to the SEC. The physicality part of the SEC, I'm not sure he fully realized just how different it is in the SEC and that finesse stuff 100 per cent of the time just ain't gonna get it in the SEC.

I'm hoping he realizes when it's 3td or 4th and one and you desperately need a first down or TD, you have absolutely got to be able to convert 99 per cent of the time. Sometimes you just gotta line up with two or three TEs or even 4 OTs and just play smash mouth. There's really no substitute.
