All you MFs deserve this. I believe I started the first basketball recruiting thread on this site, and I was surprised by how good the response was.

This board has always had great basketball support. Even when watching Anthony Grant’s teams unable to score in the half court or buckling up for Avery Johnson’s bumpy ride, y’all stayed with this program.

So tonight raise a glass to all the Alabama basketball stans as the kids say.

Chadaristic having reasoned takes. Cobrasize or Mistaken with the overdramatics. SummerOfGeorge/TripleDaves dropping stats. BigBird talking shite about white players. PVilleGuru RIP. BamaFan15/18 optimistic as always and all the rest I forgot to name. Y’all deserve this run for being true fans through thick and thin.

Great longtime poster in the basketball thread. Should have made my cut, but I’m drunk as hell.

My love for Tide hoops has been equal to football my whole life. Grew up listening to games on the radio. Didn’t miss a game sitting in the ‘Mark’s Madness’ student section. Stormed the floor when we beat UF under Gottfried to win the SEC.

Always hoped to see this day and it has finally arrived. Totally euphoric feeling tonight.

I honestly feel like Grant's and Avery's tenures both contributed to this. Grant laid a foundation of playing to a standard and holding to a standard on and off the court. He would not hesitate to sit a player for off court issues even if it meant we likely would not win.

Then Avery came in, and he didn't compromise but he also started bringing in higher caliber players.

Oats put all those things together, but I really believe we aren't here without those two coaches setting the stage.

I haven't been a basketball fan for as long as anyone else in here but I know that y'all who've been watching bama basketball for decades have probably just had one of the best nights of your lives. Heck, I've only been watching consistently for three or four years and I'm fired up as all get out. Huge props to all you longtime fans who have stuck with it and I can't really imagine how good it feels to finally get over that seemingly insurmountable hump that is the sweet 16/elite 8 after years of constantly falling short. I hope that I can be as committed a fan as y'all in the future. Goodnight, and Roll Tide.

Yeah I have no ill will towards either of those coaches. Grant was a good coach who just couldn’t put it together on offense, and I think a lot of Alabama basketball fans became fans because of the excitement Avery brought.

Oats is just a different level.

I went to a few games with my brother when he was a student for that great 2003-4 season (he usually had to go by himself because the culture surrounding basketball was just incredibly poor.), Didn't really get into it until I started listening to the radio broadcasts on my lunch break during the Avery Johnson era for some reason.

After so many years of 'Bama giving games like this and UNC away, this is an incredibly special run.

Roll Tide, boys!

I have already rewatched the game. I can confirm that it did happen. I am not sure if I will be able to go to sleep tonight.

I used to attend Bama basketball camp at the end of the Wimp era and beginning of the Hobbs era. I’ve always followed basketball just as close as football. It’s been amazing to see what Coach Oats has done in such a short time. Can’t lie. I had some tears in my eyes tonight.

Agreed.

How about we show some love to Greg Byrne for bringing him down from Buffalo? Talk about a home run hire virtually out of the gate.

I haven’t been posting long on this board. Plus I don’t post much anyway. But I have been following Alabama basketball since 1971 when I first went to the CM Newton, basketball camp in Decatur. I still remember coming home on a Thursday night from a springtime gospel meeting, and seeing the last several minutes of the Alabama Indiana game. Leon Douglas got hosed on the foul call.
So needless to say that I have dreamed of this moment literally for over 50 years.

Same…I gave a jump side hug to Rod Grizzard! It’s been a long 20 years watching the team since the 2004 E8 run, but it makes it SO SWEET!

I can’t sleep and am still celebrating, might just get ready for Easter service in a few hours…lol

Haven't posted much this year but have loved Bama basketball, and all athletics, since I was a kid. Have loved every minute of the Nate Oats era but this is a surreal moment. I mean I just looked on the athletics website and I can actually buy gear that says Final Four and has our logo on it

So proud of this team. It definitely wasn't expected but this is just awesome

Roll Tide fellas, let's enjoy this

Chris Stewart may be more pumped than anyone. Heard his interview on JOX earlier in the week, and the man truly loves basketball and Alabama. You can hear the genuine heartfelt excitement in his voice. He's been waiting a lot of years for this moment.

Instagram: Clock hits 0:00 in LA and Chris Stewart sends the Tide off

(Make sure to listen til the end)

I would sit by the radio and listen to games when I was a kid. Started during Buck Johnson’s junior year. And now we’re here. We finally made it.
