The problem UA is going to have is our next governor wants to erode the tax base and squeeze public functions and I’m certain somehow Auburn will end up less impacted. So he’s going to need to break 50k to not have bigger problems.

Yeah the least of my concerns with Tubbs is him cutting taxes.

It's wild that nobody is talking about FSU being on a bye before this game while we're coming off that weird game @KY. Norvell's coaching career might come down to this game.

That’s a consequential slice of our tax base and we’re already a fairly thin-to-the-bone state government. I don’t think there is actually all that much to trim and it costs money to run a state.
So ultimately, tax cuts are just going to be degradation of service for a state that really does the bare arse minimum as a modern state anyway.

There needs to be a serious conversation with the league office about the early kickoffs in september, people start dropping like flies when the heat runs up like this its not just an entertainment issue its a health issue.

We could join the 21st Century and allow lottery tickets to be sold in the state.
Mississippi did it and made $113 million in tax revenue from it last year.

I’m not against sales tax reduction but I do not think it can come with pure cuts. The costs will just need to be shell game’d.
I just don’t think we run a particularly inefficient operation and if we do then that speaks poorly to decades of GOP leadership in this state. I don’t see the waste seen in other states but I do see molasses slow road construction because you can only pick two out of fast, cheap, and good/correct.

They can at least pivot from the stupid bingo based algorithm for slot machines at their casinos and add table games.
There are dozens of Pearl River Resort billboards between Montgomery and Huntsville highlighting their table games because we can't have them for some fricked up reason.
I don't want us to turn into a trashy casino state like Louisiana, but it would be nice to go to Wind Creek to play blackjack from time to time.

When I was in college I remember an anti-lottery ad with "paid for by the Mississippi Gaming Commission" or something to that effect in fine print at the bottom of the screen.
