No this staff is awful on the offensive side. Bottom half, this was embarrassing
Posted on 1/1/26 at 9:33 pm to PuertoRicanBlaze
I'm not sure their is a definitely better coaching staff in the SEC if you remove UGA from the equation.
Texas maybe. LSU maybe. I mean, the dude has went 12-5 in SEC play so clearly there are some chumps in our midst in the Deep South.

I can get with this. But today can’t happen again. Losing happens. Getting crushed and made to look like incompetence is not ever okay.

Here's the thing, and this isn't going to be popular but this is more or less the thing: there is no Nick Saban waiting in the wings right now. Kalen DeBoer, for better or worse, is our best option at this point. The season didn't end the way we might have liked it to but we managed to beat both Tennessee and Auburn while also making the CFP. The grass is not always greener on the other side. So let's be patient for now and revisit this conversation in a year or two.
Exactly.

I can. I'd get downvoted to hell by morons, though.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but you let downvotes on this board impact your posting?

He's not getting 2 more years. A good coach's teams dont look this bad. And yes I know Sabans teams had close games and lost one blow out. But we've had 2 years of this nothing has changed. 2 different OCs and still the same thing.
He'll get one more year but I doubt we'll see anything different.

He’s def not proven yet, but Vandy showed up last year with swag all of a sudden and their offense has a short memory. Must be nice…

Of course, not. We know who it is and we've had the conversation ad nauseam. I don't feel like arguing with the idiots that will surely reply with the same old shite (been done in this thread, already) and when given facts never return to the conversation and just continue to spout the same bullshite when the topic returns, again.
It's too late to hire anyone else at this point besides him or an assistant, anyway. And Alabama isn't firing DeBoer until next season at the earliest.
But, yes, we do know a good hire who would walk to Tuscaloosa, tomorrow. Hell, he'd go, tonight.
Posted on 1/1/26 at 10:28 pm to BabyBackBamaBoy
There is more than enough of an argument that Lea is the product of Pavia

Kiffin again. I don't think that's true anymore. He's bet his entire reputation and career on proving that leaving Ole Miss for LSU was the right move for him. He's got to win and win big there. He's not jumping ship again after less than a month on the job.

I want our coach. He has won everywhere he’s been and he will win for us. Is he going to win a natty every other year like Saban? Doubt it. Nobody is.
Contrary to what some want to believe, DeBoer did not inherit a juggernaut at Bama. We had a number of highly rated recruiting classes that just weren’t that good. We were pulling our hair out three years ago with Milroe at QB anfter having had Tua and Bryce. What happened to getting an elite qb? Sayin came and left, but I can’t say he’s any better than Ty. Ty is good, but he got ptsd from the horrible line play.
The offensive line has been full of misses for years. How many 4 & 5 Stars transferred without ever playing and didn’t play at
Their new school? Even Proctor has underwhelmed in many ways. Jaden Roberts, RSr. Dewberry is a Sr. Van De Mark RSr. Much of our poor performance comes from older guys.
DeBoer has 2.5 recruiting classes. Just about everyone that we like in the team was either brought with DeBoer from Washington or is a RSo or below.
So, we have either been playing holdovers from the Saban regime, or we are playing really young guys. Formby is a RSo. That’s young to be playing SEC and playoff football. He was an early starter last year because of what was left over. . Kaleb Edward’s is a true freshman TE. Many in our defensive secondary are sophomores.
Contributors who either came with DeBoer of have been a part of his first two classes.

So, yeah. I’m taking my guy, and I am giving him a while to put his program together.
With a BUNCH of Freshmen and sophomores he was in the SEC championship game. Got into the playoffs and won a playoff game. This year we met a team of much older more physically mature dudes at IU who are very well coached. Okay. I’ll take my lumps to get a better tomorrow.
Bottom line. DeBoer is a winner and we are massive fools to think differently.

I’d probably say UTx as well, but I’d be hesitant and UTx has soured on Sark. No one else is a definite upgrade and that absolutely includes Kiffin IMO. Edit: Said another way, I believe we have at least a top 3 staff in the SEC. We need to give him time to learn and grow. Hopefully he can fix the run game this offseason.
I’m sorry our entire offensive coaching has regressed the last 6 games. There were so many boneheaded play calls from Grubb tonight that he should be left in California. Our players looked tired and uninterested by the 2nd qtr.
Grubb needs to go, full stop. S/C coach also. RB and OL as well.

He had a 1st round QB and 2 1st round WR at Washington. And pur best 3 offensive players this year are transfers from his Washington team.
