For the first time in what seems a long time, no SEC coaches are on the hot seat

Honestly, unless one of these coaches does some crazy shite like being in a hot tub with teenage girls or smoking crack on social media, I don’t see any SEC coaches getting the ax this year.

Then again, there are a lot of coaches in their first or second year.

Don’t rule out TN fans unreasonable expectations if fat Huepel doesn’t make the playoffs this season.

I could 100% see Lebby, Beamer, or Sark getting fired if they have bad seasons this year.

I think Lebby is safe. They were pretty bad his first year, improved some last year. I think he’s a good coach and given time, I think he can make them consistently decent (going 7-5, 8-4). For MSU, 8-4 is a good season.

Beamer? I like the guy but he seemed to “almost” so many games last year. Waaaay too many games lost they should have won. My son-in-law works on the USCe NCAA compliance staff. He thinks his seat is warm but not hot (yet).

Lebby might get another year if State misses a bowl game, but Beamer has to be gone if USCe doesn't make a bowl game. I just couldn't see the logic in keeping him when 3 of his last 4 seasons were shite. Especially when he has had a potential 1st round pick at QB, as raw as he may be. Sark would really need the wheels to come off I think. Like a lose the locker room toxic situation. Look how hard it was for Penn State and Michigan to find hires.

Saban being gone and Kirby taking a half step back at the same time suddenly has a lot more SEC fanbases content with what they have though.

It's a pipe-dream scenario, but man can you imagine this place if Texas were to can Sark, steal Lane from LSU, and Sark becomes our OC?

Sark will be a hot commodity with a school like FSU should they fire him. With his multi million dollars he could sit out a while

I don't think Sark will ever be an OC again. He's won enough that the lowest he could fall from Texas - barring off-the-field misadventures - is low-end P4 school head coach.

agreed. unless sark shoots himself in the foot bigly, he'll be a head coach the rest of his career
