This year we trot out the Hurry Up and Wait No Huddle (HUWNH) power offense. And it's run by true freshman, Blake Barnett. We only snap the ball fast if the other team tries to substitute. We win every game 35-0.

As talented as he is, I'm mildly susprised that Humphrey is penciled in as a starting CB.

Has a lot to do with TB being hurt as well.

That was cleared up yesterday. It was just a rumor, not true.

Are we sure about that? He hurt his shoulder on fan day but was back out in full pads the next practice. i know shoulder injuries are tricky and have a tendency to linger, but there's been no mention of TB being limited

They were really day and night coming into the program.

Tony Brown was the EE who already had the size for college, while Marlon Humphrey didn't get there until the rest of the class did and was pretty slender by college standards.

End result? Tony Brown plays, Marlon Humphrey redshirts.

Now come 2015, Marlon is bigger and came off what was called a good Spring for him. Tony Brown's shoulder may have let Marlon Humphrey get his foot in the door, but it looks like this has just been an ascension by him the entire time.

And even though they're in the same class I believe TB is close to a year older than MH which also contributed to him being more physically ready to play last year

ETA: TB is 360 days older than MH

TB has been a bit disappointing to be honest. Maybe it's an injury holding him back, but he's the most impressive CB physically that I can remember and he was mediocre his TF season (understandable) and now he is getting beat out by one or more guys (Marlon, Fitz, maybe even Mo and Avarett?). Hope the light comes on for him at some point.

Criticism on TB is a little harsh. What did you all expect from him last season? He was a freshman and the position opposite of CJ was a revolving door last year. Do you guys remember Dee's first season? What about Dre's first season starting? I think all three are going to be really good this year and next. TB just needs to let his shoulder heal. He may need to give up track imo.

Alabama returned to the practice field Monday afternoon, as the Crimson Tide players practiced outdoors and in full pads on a mostly-cloudy, 86-degree afternoon in Tuscaloosa. It was the team's first practice of Wisconsin week.

Here are several tidbits from the media viewing portion of Alabama's Monday practice session:

- Although the Crimson Tide released its first depth chart Monday, the quarterback line remained the same as it has all fall. The QBs split up into two lines in the second viewing period, with Jacob Coker, Alec Morris and walk-on Seth Franks making up one line, while David Cornwell, Cooper Bateman and freshman Blake Barnett made up the other.

- Linebacker Dillon Lee, however, was practicing with the outside linebackers, after spending most of the team's prior practices with the inside 'backers. Lee was third in line, behind Denzel Devall and Ryan Anderson and in front of Tim Williams, Rashaan Evans and Christian Miller.

- Lee and Devall were the first two OLBs up when working on formation-based drills, as Lee was the starting SAM 'backer and Devall was the starting JACK on the depth chart. When Lee left to work on dime, Evans stepped in for him.

- In the second of two viewing periods, the outside linebackers wore arm restraints to keep their elbows inside.

- Wide receiver Cameron Sims (knee) was wearing a white jersey Monday. His left knee was wrapped and housed a brace.

- In fact, the only players wearing black, no-contact jerseys during the viewing portion of practice were the quarterbacks.

- The first-team offensive line was -- from left to right -- Cameron Robinson, Ross Pierschbacher, Ryan Kelly, Alphonse Taylor and Dominick Jackson. The first two tight ends with the O-line were O.J. Howard and Dakota Ball.

- Toward the end of the viewing portion of practice, some Alabama's defenders appeared to line up in its dime package. The cornerbacks were Cyrus Jones and Marlon Humphrey, the safeties were Geno Smith and Eddie Jackson, the Star was freshman Minkah Fitzpatrick, the Money was Maurice Smith and the Mack linebacker was Reuben Foster.

There seems to be less moving around / experimenting with the Oline this "fall" practice compared to previous fall practices. This lineup has been pretty consistent except for the Taylor/Bozeman battle at RG. Hopefully that helps the continuity right off the bat this year.

Well there is a lot of playing experience and most of the spots were solidified before camp even started. Honestly, center and right guard were the only two up for grabs.

I thought Cotton might push Jackson for RT but they have him backing up CRob at LT. If we land Little it'll be interesting to see if we move Cotton to RT next year

I would assume that Little would move to RT until CRob leaves.

Was this a typo? I thought C and LT were the two that were definitely solidified with returning starters and that there would be some more rotation and experimentation at LG, RG, and RT.

I'd love to see Reuben Foster put things together. He's received a lot of criticism from people expecting him to bust heads from day one. It looks like he'll see a lot of snaps this season. RBs are going to hate running up the middle.

I said the same exact thing. It was really surprising when I saw that.
