screw it all. There were years we had no competition at the QB level unless it came from scrubs. NOw we have big time competition. All NS wants is someone to take charge. if he realizes Coker is not that man then he has two decisions to make. One being who starts and who gets back up minutes. I would think you would not give back up minutes to a senior who wont be around next year. He has already said Barnett is too good not to play this year.

This QB competition is stressful. I wish someone would just kick arse and take over.

I can't wait to see who's in the lead after today's practice. It's Cornwell's turn if I'm not mistaken

Relax. Bama was in the playoff last year with Blake Sims as QB. I'm not saying he didn't play well, but a LOT of that was due to our coaches and the talent around him. I love Sims, and he'll always be one of my favorite players for what he did last year, but the fact is, he had some limitations. The QB play this year will be AT LEAST as good as it was last year. Sims' running ability might be missed once in a while, but none of our other recent QB's could run like Sims either.

Which bar did he supposedly flash his pecker?

Seth Franks or QB #10 IMO

I only ask, if that was the case, why couldn't any of those guys (Coker, Morris, Bateman) beat out Sims last season?

Any one else hearing rumblings of a Cornwell transfer before season?
Heard he's discussed it with Kiffin & Saban. It would go ahead and start his transfer clock.
Not certain it will happen, but have heard he's exploring, which would indicate he's given up on playing this year either way

The Cornwell rumor is certainly the rumor du jour. Today is the last day to withdraw without fricking up the ole transcript, so I would imagine some real news on that will start surfacing soon.

Because it was last season. Sims was a 5th year senior and all of those guys were relatively young, or new to the program.
This is this season. Players develop.

I understand player development, but there is supposedly little to no separation, so would it be easier to think they all developed at the same clip, or have they hit a plateau in their development arcs?
I just think blindly expecting QB play to match or exceed 2014, is a tall order based on the results we have seen and or read about to this point.

Well, you go ahead and do what you need to do.
I'm going to "blindly" trust that the QB play will be fine. That doesn't mean our passing game will necessarily be as good, because we don't have an Amari Cooper. But, Stewart will be good, and I think Foster and Ridley will do well also.
If you're right, and we can't find a good QB out of all those guys, then you can tell me you told me so.

Or Blake Sims.

No kidding, he's busy...... what's he busy doing nowadays?

Seriously. Look, Sims broke records and that's fantastic but how much of that had to do with having a tremendously gifted WR on hand?
Blake made plays with his legs, but there's not really any throws he made that I couldn't see our other guys making. And then there's the games where he looked less like a SEC champion and more like "walk-on #10" so to speak.
I think it's safe to say he was a decent QB who overachieved, and I'm glad he got us a SEC CG but I'll always consider him a large part of those two losses (downvote away)
The fact is people still try to prop him as a "Bama football great" and yet he's struggling to make even a Canadian roster?

I think of him as an SEC Champion and single season record setter. I will always remember his clutch play in the last 50 seconds of the LSU game as one of the cool and smooth performances ever in a Bama game.
Posted on 8/26/15 at 3:46 pm to nb200016
I generally agree, but, an SEC Championship is quite a big deal to me. IMO, Sims was a Champion.

This statement is pure conjecture.

So a first year starter had a couple of off games? Shocking.

This is just a retarded statement. Plenty of great college QBs don't make it in the pros. The only things that "prop" him up are the records that he broke, and the SEC championship and first college football playoff that he led the team to.
