IMO, the entire defensive staff needs to be fired at the end of the season. I don’t care if Wommack is CKD’s buddy, he’s just not getting it done.
It’s as plain as the nose on your face they were COMPLETELY unprepared, especially on defense. Never seen so much sloppy tackling. Losing contain over and over and over. Poor pursuit angles.
At end of the season, fire the entire defensive staff, double the salary of Phil Parker (DC at Iowa) or Glen Schumann at UGA. Parker consistently works miracles with a bunch of 2-3 star recruits. Schumann is a Bama grad. MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN BAMA DOWN!!!!!

Shite, I had some of the best times watching Alabama between 2001-2005. It's ridiculous how on edge I'd get for some games between 2008 & 2021. I may be pissy at times with the way things are going on the field but I'm here for it.

I’ve been attending Bama games since 1972. Call me fake if you want, but if I want to bitch about shitty play and coaching on a sports forum I will.
The motherfricker is getting paid nearly $1,000,000 a month to put a championship team on the field, his staff is also getting that much in total pay and some players are getting millions to put that jersey on. You want to be a highly paid professional, you take the shite with it.

Everyone is entitled to be upset about what we just witnessed. I won’t ever stop watching but I’ll certainly reserve the right to save myself massive donations for absolutely shite play.

I just have a hard time mustering the same level of passion I had before. These guys are getting paid huge sums of money to play a game. They have zero connection to my alma mater except through a paycheck. They’re student athletes in name only. That alone has kind of pushed me away from the kind of fanaticism I had 5-10 years ago. Add in the fact that they aren’t very good, and fall weather in Alabama is awesome, and it just isn’t worth 4 hours in front of the couch every weekend.

All of this. Every bit of it.
These kids are paid more money than I am. If I do a poor job, I’m fired. They screw up, and it’s, “Ah, don’t quit on them yet.”
I’m all for these guys getting paid, so long as we as fans get returns.

I think it's a combo of things. The transfer portal and NIL kinda hurt the "esprit de corps" element/bonds with the team.
Hurts me to say it as a long time fan and alum.
Watching those former Bama players lay the wood to us doesn't help, either.
I'm just not sure I care as much as I used to. Win or lose.
Plus, we've been to the mountaintop. It's a sobering thing to realize that's all behind us now.
It's just football. It's the same BS year after year with the commentators saying the same bullshite game after game.
