A lot of teams have really good defensive lines this year for some reason. Not sure why that is.

Alabama has ran into an abnormally high number of NFL caliber speed rushers over the last several weeks. Arguably the best edge rusher we'll see all year is Keldric Faulk when we travel to Auburn. LSU and Oklahoma also have some good speed off the edge with some guys who will find a home somewhere in the NFL too.

SEC is just really deep with long, twitchy edge defenders this year. Ironically, the least fearsome DL we'll have played once it's all said and done is UGA. They have good size, you can't move them, but they have no quick twitch guys.

Last year‘s team loses this game. If any team deserved a down week, it was this team and they found a way to win. I’m taking it.

Everyone keeps talking down south Carolina, like Alabama should have blown them out.

This year's Alabama team just has very little margin. Similar to the NFL if the QB fails to execute at a high level very good chance they will lose the game.

Every other phase of this Alabama team is average.

The ball control offense with very good QB play is the difference between winning and losing all these games.

The days of dominating other SEC teams are over. There are only a few that are truly bad, and our schedule does not allow us to play either of those.

Overmatched teams are still getting blown out.

I'm gonna lead towards encouraging win. At the start of the year, a lot of people were worried about this game because it was the fifth game of a ridiculous gauntlet. We've been hit with a ton of injuries in those 5 games. Two of our best receivers in Brooks and Horton didn't play yesterday.

Everything that could have gone wrong for the offense went wrong for a little over 3 quarters, but they found a way to come back in the fourth quarter and win. You can point to most championship teams and find a game like yesterdays.

This team seems like they are accountable for poor performances and I think, and hope, we spend the bye week getting healthy and figuring out what we need to do to start peaking at the right time. We have not seen this team put together 4 quarters of their A game. I think the closest we got was Tennessee.

Regardless, this team just went 5-0 against a part of our schedule that a lot of people thought we would go 3-2 in and that's something to be encouraged about.

1. We played like a team that was on its fifth straight must-win conference game. We need a break.

2. We absolutely would have lost this game last year.

3. If we run the ball 40 times a game we’re going to get our asses beat, I don’t care about the wet dreams of the “Run the damn bawlll, Pawlll” crowd. We don’t have the kind of backs we’ve had in the past and we don’t have optimal offensive linemen for what DeBoer and Grubb do offensively. Until that is rectified, we’re going to be in a “make do” mode.

Really, with the run game, I’m just looking for them to get on schedule runs (3-4 yard gains) on 1st and 2nd down. When teams play split safety, we need to be able to run them out of it. We did this against Vandy and Mizzou but not in the last two weeks. Guards are just missing guys a lot is my layman analysis.

we ran the ball 23 times yesterday. It could probably be argued that we ran it TOO much considering the success we were having. But, I actually really like that Grubb doesn't really ever abandon the run completely even when its not working.

Well its not working because there is no creativty with the run game until the game was almost over. The runs early on are simple handoff and run up the middle. We have the best RB the state has seen in a while committed. If im him im not happy with the run game.

Glad they didn’t quit or fold. Bad because even though we’ve had wins this team has lacked consistency all year long.

Best win of the season so far. Coming off 4 games against ranked teams with SC being the 3rd road game against SEC without a break.

The team each week continues to show we can win multiple ways. The defense stepped up when the offense was struggling. The team got hit in the mouth and got back up just like a Rocky movie.

Enjoy the win because in the end no matter how it played out or what the score it was still a win.

Roll Tide!

Until Bama can consistently run the football and have balance on offense, there’s going to be a lot of hot and cold games going forward. Yesterday they found a way to win a cold game. There has to be some balance on offense.

However, Alabama doesn't win that game without SC gifting them 14 points.
Bama gifted SC short fields all night. I think they only scored once, a field goal, when they had to drive more than 45 yards

Its frustrating to watch this team if you're a Bama fan. But, its even more frustrating to watch if you're a fan of Bama's opponent.

After the stretch of games we just went through, I expected a bit of a drop off in the SC game. Not because we were unmotivated given the circumstances or bright future ahead - but because we were tired, banged up after the last 4 tough games etc.

I thought we would win going into the game, but in an ugly way for the reasons mentioned above (ex. Tenn at Bama in 2009)

I thought we showed championship level grit to pull out the W the way we did, despite all the pressure in the world being on us.

I mean yeah, I would’ve liked to have won by 40, but that was a gutsy win in a tough environment, so I’m encouraged.

Side note - that stadium and environment is very very similar to what we will see at Aub. So at minimum that win was excellent mental prep for the last game of the season against little brother.

It's hard to know what to make of it.

Was that game a sign of things to come or a one-off?

It was clearly a trap game, but this team needs to regroup, and refocus over the bye week. If we come out and curb stomp LSU as we should, I'll feel better going forward.

The Auburn game will be the proof of whether or not this group has figured out how to play on the road against an underdog.

If they gave the game to Bama it was when they let us score at the end No time outs Very little time I had A ton more confidence in the D holding them then a kick I saw it as a dumb call We would of had a very nervous kicker
