How does law enforcement obtain evidence and prove this crime to the judge/jury? Asking for a friend.

I'm guessing he was probably stupid and the victim has text messages from him.

Why are we discussing this. It doesn't help at all by assuming and speculating.

On top of just current embarrassment, this stupid arse choice he made is gonna haunt him for the rest of his life. You have to be a real loser clown and POS to get into this scenario in the first place, but good luck ever finding any woman that’ll sleep with him again, lmao.

Is anyone else surprised with the advancements in HIV medications that herpes is still a thing?

Not really. Viruses aren't alive so they generally don't have a cure, they use cells to reproduce. If you try to kill the virus you will likely hurt the person. We improve treatment of symptoms and self care over time and a virus that was previously deadly or debilitating eventually becomes manageable and easier to live with.

Im shocked how slow cancer treatment is coming along. The planet has spent enough to build a colony on Mars, and yet its still killing people.

Almost as if they want to treat it, not cure it.

So why don't we train experts to cure it and not just treat it?

More profitable to treat it, not cure it.

Unfortunately, this is the answer.

Our species is infected with something even worse than cancer, and we will never achieve a human utopia until we identify and cure whatever it is. I'm sure it relates to our early evolution and hundreds of thousands of years of genetic code that scream, "me want more." "me want everything." (you know, so we dont starve to death next winter)

I saw some staggering statistic once that went something like "the 25 richest billionaires have more wealth than the poorest 4 Billion humans- also known as half the planet." That is seriously fricked up.

I'm not a communist, and I believe in free market, but a hybrid system is needed to prevent "black holes" of wealth to exist. That kind of greed is uncontrollable.

I'll leave it to the scholars to figure that out though.

What a weird turn this thread has taken. I don't disagree that the pharmaceutical industry is complicit in high drug prices that focuses on cosmetic drugs and treating symptoms not encouraging cures.

With that being said a lot research done to cure disease is on the public side and funded through the government. Researchers don't have any benefits of not discovering cures, it is just hard. My wife became a scientist to research a cure for a disease she will have for a lifetime and will ultimately lead to organ failure disease of no cure is found. She saw very little progress in her research by herself or her peers up until she left the field after 10 years from burn out. Lucky for her in the meantime understanding of how to manage the disease naturally has led to an incredible increase of the life expectancy of people with her disease without a transplant.

We haven't even talked about the insurance industries role in this. It is a complicated topic.

Two possible ways come to mind:

1. They can show he was treated for it previously, so he knew he had it. Then it's a he said/she said situation on whether he told her.
2. He confessed to it, either to her or a third party, or he mentioned something in a text message (kids love their phones).

"More profitable to treat it, not cure it."

This is the reason why cancer has not been cured. We could have come up with a cure years ago, scientists know how to cure it, but there is too much money to be made in cancer treatment. I read somewhere that hospitals make more money in their cancer treatment centers than other medical wings. Obviously the cost of treatment drugs is astronomical!! Someone is getting rich on the back of the poor patients -- pharmaceutical companies and politicians and even the medical community. I am 12 years out from cancer treatment and even though I have been "cured for 11 of those years, my oncologists both think they need to follow me until the end of my life!! Go figure. $$$$$$$

This is completely unprovable. You can’t prove he gave it to her. You can’t prove he didn’t get it from her. You can’t prove she didn’t get it from someone else. You can’t prove she didn’t consent to it knowingly. You can’t prove anything.

He got arrested for it. There is probably some substance to the accusation. Most jurisdictions are not going to bother charging someone with this if it is just he-said-she-said conjecture.
