Yeah I think I'd rather keep Golding. He's at least a hobbit and not some Jersey shore douchebag bro.

I first broke this rumor last week in the megathread and it didn't get much play at the time. Even I was unsure of the quality of the rumor, but it has played out pretty much as I was told. UT is trying to get their ducks in a row now. They don't want another disastrous search like the last one so they are going to have Pruitt's replacement waiting in the wings. They are expecting to fire Jeremy Tuesday or Wednesday and let things simmer over the Christmas holiday and name the new coach the week after Christmas. I don't know who they are pursuing, so I can't help you with a name.

How recently were people wanting Pruitt to take over after Saban retired?

UT might hire Hugh Freeze.

If Tenn fires Pruitt I could see Phill going for freeze.

I, for one, have a strong belief that Pete Golding will be our DC next year. Just don't see Saban letting him go.

I'm still convinced Strong could be a great DC at Alabama. Would at least put him back in the running for a decent HC job in the next 3-4 years. He'd be happy to do it. I doubt he's forgotten how to defense.

Jeremy did not want to stay at Bama, so why do you want him back.

Your 15 posts are at least 1 too many. Pruitt left for a HC job for goodness sakes.

It's questionable whether Saban will dismiss Golding after the playoff. It is also questionable whether UT has the desire (read: the money) to fire Pruitt. However, it is not questionable whether Pruitt is a good DC. To doubt him just because he left to take a HC position is just silly.
