A solid assessment by and large.
The one aspect that I haven't seen mentioned in any posts is the question of Milroe's football I.Q..
Some guys are just mentally able to calmly look over a defense, identify their alignment while considering their tendencies, then correctly adjust the play call. On pass plays, they make their reads, make a decision, then quickly execute! On runs, if there are options, read the initial movements of the defensive players, then execute!
It's not complicated, BUT one must have a solid knowledge of what he should be looking for, and the experience (practice! practice!) to execute it almost without thinking!
I'm afraid our man Milroe may be deficient in some of these areas.

Milroe, God love him, is the anti-Tua.
As a freshman Tua knew where his guys were on the field and could scan all across the field in an instant. As a freshman.

I think that comes down to the product he puts on the field. He may actually have a high football IQ, but can't assess and execute at the same time.
He seems to be the kind of guy that you hate this is happening to. Does the right things, works hard, puts in the time, but you just can't overlook what happens when you need him most. There are people that you are happy to see go, and people that it hurts a bit to see them fail. He definitely falls in the latter category.

how many points did we leave on the field with Milroe completely missing throws,
Milroe seems to make up his mind who he is going to throw to pre-snap and if that guy aint open, the play is fricked. There were two times where Jermaine Burton was running wide open down the field for a walk in touchdown and Milroe didn't even look his way. I'm sure it was the same with Bond. So frustrating.

I can multiply multi-digit numbers by multiple numbers given a paper and pencil and time. A high IQ math genius can do it in his head...in an instant!...

If I had to give the Defense a grade it would probably be:
Before the Longhorn's last drive: B
After: C
Defense was getting moved all over and the Offense didn't help them. When the offense is needed to step up (especially the QB) and they don't - the defense is going to get tired quickly.
As we all know, Sark makes opposing defenses cry and tired pretty easily (one of the reasons I miss him), and he did the same thing to our young DB's. Quick passes when we were expecting the short passes etc.
I honestly think once Steele and co. get moving, we'll be fine on that side of the ball.
Just wanted to note because I love talking defense

This one was a tough one to swallow, because it was out there for them. Even with all the penalties, poor decisions, liabilities at positions and mistakes this one could have gone the other way, just couldn't take advantage of what Texas left out there.
This seems to be a trend for this team the last several years. So, the frustration at least for me is it is not a one-time thing. It continues to happen each year without being fixed.

Sark made every guy on Bama's defense that was supposed to be good look like dogshit, except maybe Kool Aid. Turner, Arnold, Lawson, Downs, etc all got embarassed.

Great receivers and a QB will beat a defense in todays game. That is why Saban doesnt just run it up the middle every down. Kool Aid got beat too. We really need for our safeties to keep the ball in front of them. Gmac said before the game that Sark loves to go deep. He would just make Sark take on the short stuff because he cant stand that and will still go deep.

Kevin Steele did not read the analytics data, apparently.
The most disappointing play of the game for me was the third down conversion at the end. 3rd and long and we put everyone on the edge with a single down lineman.
And they run it it right up the middle for a first. Soul crushing for a team.

The Georgia reporter who runs his mouth on Finebum all the time said he asked David Cutcliff about the Ala QB and their game plan. He said Cutcliff didnt directly answer the question but said when Tee Martin got the job after Manning he was told to take one pre snap read, one post snap read, and take off running if that receiver wasnt open. He didnt want Martin throwing interceptions or getting sacked. But, TN had a great defense and that was before all the spread and fast paced offense we have today.

I thought this one-down lineman personnel package was going to die when Golding left. I was pretty disappointed to see it this year with Steele at the helm. LSU iced the game with a third down run on us last year and we were running this same single DL look.

It's fine when used in the appropriate context.
3rd and 7 in the redzone against a team that's gashed you on the ground but struggled to pass is a stupid context to deploy it in.

And when the team is trying to run clock it's even stupider. They wouldn't run that play in the 1st half at midfield.
