If we're going to hire a coach that acts juvenile, I'd prefer the one that has won 2 NCs as opposed to Lane...who everyone seems to think is a top candidate.

Coach Bryant changed philosophies...Coach Saban changed philosophies...Dabo could as well. Could. Just saying it's stupid to be so against him with his resume. It's not like Clemson has had losing seasons the last few seasons and recruiting has tanked.

I feel like I’m living in a twilight zone with all the Dabo hate. If he really wants to take over this job and is willing to do what it takes to keep us dominant then there is absolutely NOBODY better for the job.

Going back to their 2018 title:

15-0, CFP and ACC
10-2, ACC, CFP Semi L
10-3, Cheez-It Bowl W
11-3, ACC, NY6 Orange Bowl L
9-4, Gator Bowl W

The program has been steadily descending since his last national title. This is tDecline that all rantards were promising us with Saban that never happened.

I don’t really want Dabo, but anyone saying he isn’t an elite coach is crazy.

It’s kind of become the cool thing to hate on him because he’s old school and has been hesitant to adapt to the portal and NIL, but you’re exactly right in the fact that he’s done what no other current coach has done: win a title with different QB’s. That’s huge. That speaks to coaching and recruiting. Smart is probably a better coach overall, but Dabo isn’t that far behind. If your main criteria is a proven winner, then Dabo has to be at the top of the list.

That being said, I hope we get Sark.

I think with Ewers announcing he's returning today it confirms it won't be Sark.

I wanted Lanning, but I don't understand the Dabo hate at all. It's like people don't know why they hate him, but they just know they should. The students chanting against him was almost as ridiculous as that memorium shite they put at his statue like Saban had died.

It's like Dabo has been mentioned for so long that he's not the fresh, new cool name.

Give me proven over potential.

Yeah, well that isn’t going to happen. If that’s something we would have to consider doing then he’s the wrong hire to begin with.

Loves Jesus, wins national championships at school with no success previously. Would have 4 national championships if not for the goat. Beat the goat twice. One being an absolute beat down.

His players play to the death for the man.

Did it with two different QBs.

From Bama! On 92’ team! Walk on!

His only knock is he hasn’t mastered the portal and NIL. If he’s willing to come to Bama then that means he’s got to lay a plan out for Byrne showing that he’s ready to adapt and Byrne has to buy it. If he can do that, then he’s the guy and none of these other guys should even get a text. Jmho

Check his record while he had Brent Venables as his DC, then check it since then and then get back with me and tell me what you found out

Dabo troll threads are the best . Kirby is already kicking his arse taking his bread and butter now in recruiting, undervalued white skill players and linebackers. Once he started losing those it was clear his time had passed.

Coordinators matter?

Nobody should disagree with that. Pete the stink Golding cost us multiple natties but we don’t not hire Saban if given the chance.

No one would EVER -not- hire the GOAT. Apples and oranges. Not to say coordinators don't matter. Obviously, they do.

No one should ever not hire the younger guy who split with the goat in national championships with an inferior program either. Unless of course Saban was still our coach.

I’ll let it go.

But this twilight zone I’m in has me perplexed.

My point is that Dabo has only been successful with that one guy. He's had no success outside of that. He got lucky with that one hire.

Absolutely ZERO to show for outside of that. And he doesn't want to fool with NIL and the portal. If he were a doctor, that would be malpractice.

I've been on this site since 2007 and I've never made an alter. I'm about to go make one so I can downvote you again. Brb.

It's not about his behavior for me.

I would hire Kubla Khan if he kept the pace.

The problem is he doesn't want to deal with these mercenary little shits. He wants a team fambly full of love and togetherness.

That just won't work anymore.

He also signed Spencer Region which is an automatic disqualifier to coach at Bama.
