Just a question. Have you ever played a down of football in your life?
Just asking.
Just asking.

The answer is obvious if you read posts from this board. It’s because Jalen Milroe has successfully committed a coup against the program’s coaches and administrators, and he now runs the program. I’m hearing we’ll be changing our name from the Crimson Tide to LANK in the near future

And we will be wearing crimson pants and jersey's vs AU.
No white helmets.

The only reason Im not ranting about Simpson not playing is that I havent seen Simpson play this year against high level SEC competition.
If he sucks I get not wanting to blow up the locker room.

Waiting for YStar to lecture us on why AJ and Mac are just haters

Nah Y Star has changed his stance on Milroe. He literally said AJ and Greg were right

Not sure i want AJ and GMac having a say in who plays QB at BAMA.
I agree with the premise that Coach is coach and everyone else is just opinion (on who should play)
That said, I certainly can take AJs assessment on Milroe's mechanics... And the same consistent issues

McElroy should have been benched in 09 and he basically was in the South Carolina game for a running back. He has a lot of air time to fill up so he has a pass from me with just talking about how he feels on the radio five days a week.

It's time to end the Milroe era and move on.
I don't disagree with this sentiment at all. But I don't want the Head coach at Alafrickingbama taking advice from two former players who are now pundits.

quote:That would explain why we’re sniffing dead last in the country in 3rd and long percentage. Either changes late in the defense is confusing him, or he’s focused on the wrong thing.
What he means is Milroe doesn't go through his PSL (pre-snap look) to see where he should go with the ball depending on the defense being lined up against us.
I have to wonder if it’s the latter, he hasn’t overcome last year. Let’s face it, he did a damn good job last year just catching the snap, since there was no telling where it was going. He may still be mentally in that place, if so, yeah you should probably bench him for at least a series or two and see if another qb has the same issue.
That being said, we have a coach who is better at being a head coach in CFB than any of us ever could be. I’m certainly willing to trust his judgement about it. He may see things in practice we don’t that make this an easier decision than it might seem.

I’m sure Greg and AJ watch as much practice, film, etc and now the players and team as well as the current coaches do.

I agree he cannot listen to outside advice. It is a sticky situation for him. In this particular situation, Mal Moore as a one time offensive coordinator and athletic director, recommendation would be appropriate. Who knows what he would recommend. Saban not so much since he was in the same boat as DeBoer and did exactly what DeBoer is doing. I personally think Simpson should be given a chance to prove himself during a game. I remember Bryant saying he was offered the coaching job at the Washington Redskins and he told the owner that if it came down to decision making between him and Sammy Baugh he was in charge. The owner's answer was oh you won't have trouble with Sammy. Bryant did not take the job base on this reply. Of course times are different now, but DeBoer has to be frustrated with Milroe's play at this point.

At least you understood your limitations.
