I had no idea it was this bad. Talk about the "fan experience"... didn't know that included being bent over. You expect high prices at events...I haven't bought anything in years at a game...but to literally charge DOUBLE what other SEC venues are charging... that's just disgusting to see them screw people over. Skip the crap burger and save your money for a steak after the game. Greedy bastards.

Smells like broke in here.
But in all seriousness, I'd prob skip on the 15 dollar cheeburg as well. I would be buying beer, if that's available now. I wouldn't know.

I usually will get a souvenir cup or two each year and that is all I buy. Atlanta has proven you can be reasonable on you concessions and still make money.
This past year was the first time (and the last) I bought a pretzel. I'm pretty sure it was cardboard with salt sprinkled on top of it.

fan experience".
That has been long gone at football game and even more so with alcohol sales inside the stadium with idiots that can not handle their drink.
I still have 2 more kids that need to attend a home game but that will be it for me. I will still do the road games especially at venues I have yet to see a game that I have always wanted to but I have a more enjoyable experience locally at our watch party with reasonable menu prices, free parking, and short commute home afterwards.
Again my preference now.

The burger is below average too. They should be embarrassed that they’re selling it for $15

I’ve never understood the reasoning for buying food at a game. You are in there for 2.5 to 3 hours. Eat before or eat after.
Drinks are a whole different story….and you just gotta pay the price I guess

Im more concerned about how we went from the worlds largest surplus of oil in human history created by the pandemic/shutdown to record breaking prices at the pumps/energy while oil/energy companies site "supply chain," and "inflation" however post the largest profit margins in history.
The largest profits in HISTORY last year for chevron, exxon, shell, etc... a few months after oil was less than pennies per barrel and was literally not worth the storage space.
Houses in my neighborhood that used to go between 200k-300k are now between 600k-1M
I dont blink when my Saturday night dinner for 3 runs north of 200 dollars anymore.
I stopped at the grocery this past weekend for deli cuts, bread, milk, etc. minimal in-and-out consisting of maybe four bags of groceries 160. at the till
My neighbor little boy smashed his finger in a door jam last month which resulted in needing 4 stitches - $16,000.
16,000 Sixteen-thousand dollars = Four Stitches

Yeah, there is just something fundamentally wrong when what should be a pastime for middle class people is just another way for the wealthy to show off and franchises/programs to fleece folks for outrageous prices.
Largely gone are the days when working class people could enjoy sporting events.

I like getting food at games as part of the experience. I like supporting the University
That goes out the window when they are punishing the people that actually go to the games

That's what happens when we start paying everyone on the roster. It's about to become unaffordable for a regular working class Alabama fan to go to a game.

Appreciate the soapbox rants, but I don't think this is about inflation or NIL. They still have inflation and NIL in every other college arena charging half the price we are for concession fare.

Shameful. Our AD should be ashamed.

The last concessions I bought at Bryant-Denny will remain just that because of quality, quantity, and cost.

Same here... same as in Coleman.
I miss the days of a good old stadium hotdog, some popcorn and a coke.
We still attend games, buy a coke or 2..

Exactly. Either the university is making a killing or the vendor they contracted with... likely both. It's just obscene to be charging double what other schools do...and that has nothing to do with our current macroeconomic situation. Just put everything together... from concessions to charging people to be on a freakin' waiting list... it's embarrassing. Times are good now because of the competitive teams being fielded...but once CNS retires and if they get the next hire wrong, they'll be offering a free spot on the waiting list, if there is a list then and 2 for 1 burgers. Of course the geniuses in administration don't worry about the future...they know they'll all be retired with their fat pensions and retirement accounts by then. The next group will be tasked with fan reconciliation when the time comes. And the bridges they're burning now aren't good for the long range business model. Right now they don't have to give a shite about what the fans think...and it shows.

Sounds like our government. But you’re right, it’s all about kickbacks. Vendors grease the the administration over it via new cars, trips, cash. It’s been going on forever.
Just go enjoy the game and make the choice to either buy the shite or not.

Yeah I was shocked at the prices when I attended a game earlier in the year. I refuse to buy soft drinks or food at any sporting event. It’s just too costly and it’s easy to go 4-5 hours without food. When the wife and kids go with me I cringe because I know we are going spend a fortune on. Bull crap. I was on a mission once and had limited water and no food for roughly 110 hours. I tell my wife we are spoiling our kids and I know she is spoiled. She says I’m just being difficult and an idiot when they get food and drinks and I won’t even eat a nacho from their stuff. She is probably right but a man has to stand for something.

I haven’t bought from the concessions all year. I refuse simply out of principle. As the article states, you can get a legit good burger at Five for less than that basic frozen patty at Coleman.
And for the yearly price for a club pass, you could probably go out downtown to eat for every home game and come out about the same.

People would be surprised to know you can get so use to being hungry that it doesn't affect you.

I'm there all the time. 15 bucks for a Conecuh hot dog or 2 chicken fingers and a dozen fries is a damn ripoff.
It's about as bad as it's ever been.
