Is Deboer planning on running it back with the current staff??? Is he waiting until the transfer portal is closed or what?

One can only hope this is the case.

I’d say there is almost no chance that the staff is set.

Have no faith in Deboer to make the correct decisions in the next hires, even if he does make coaching changes......Downvote all you want but Deboer likes Grubb's philosophies. Saban wouldn't have allowed Grubb to run those crazy plays, have no running, and have terrible blocking fundamentals.

Watching these other teams, all with Saban disciples in the driver’s seat. Starting to feel like we missed out.

He was/is the best post GOAT coach before we go get the Saban guy. The guy that follows after the legend is never the one… we needed a stop gap, that doesn’t completely sink the program until we hire the Saban guy.

I don't think any of them are home run hires whatsoever right now. You'd be betting on who out of the group would most likely grow into a great coach. I can't even venture a guess as to who that would be at this particular time.

Byrne thought he could do no wrong after the Oats hire. Our AD needs a performance review in February if none of this staff is told to walk.

Yes, I was pretty SHOCKED we went for the 4th down early in the second quarter in Rose bowl........Deboer and Grubb decided to go for it after a long time-out from the 34 yard line and thought running sideways out of shotgun with no blocking and defense that was sitting on run was a great idea. So yes, I am going to question their judgement.

Read somewhere he is reshuffling his offensive coaches. I say if you put crap in a bag and shuffle it, it’s still going to come out crap!

The Mike Shula strategy (which got him fired). Ferocious loyalty to your assistants, no matter how bad they’re hurting you. I’m hoping CKD doesn’t do this because doing so it is almost a guarantee he’ll be fired in the next 1-2 years.

Byrne should’ve insisted that Saban be heavily involved in his replacement.

It was byrne’s decision to NOT involve coach until the decision was made.

The only guys that people would have accepted being hired in January 2024 from the Saban tree are Sark (used us to get a raise), Lanning (used us to get a raise), Kirby and Kiffin (and that sentiment was greatly mixed).

Literally the only one that would have come here was Kiffin, and at that time he had accomplished nothing of significance.

This sums it up fairly well. I hope the powers that be help DeBore with Linemen.

but it's gonna be, or already is a crazy time in recruiting "buying" players that are willing to stay.
