Is Jay Graham official yet?

Todd Watson on twitter is "Special Assistant to the Head Coach." I suppose he'll be the one washing the Benz now.

For a while, I've said Karl Scott was looking around and everyone kept telling me I was wrong.

Getting a DC position at a P5 school is a clear promotion. I dunno if he was looking around or not but that's not just leaving to leave.

He was looking around last year. He wants to be DC. His only chance is Maryland.

I'm certain that 90% of position coaches want to be coordinators and 90% of coordinators want to be head coaches. They're going to look around if there are opportunities to move up.

Saban should've recommended Mike Stoops to Locksley for that job. Good fit and better gig for Stoops than FAU.
ETA: Scott might've been a better choice for DC than Golding was. Apparently Saban thought otherwise at the time.

Locksley probably didn't want a retread that has failed at his last couple stops. I know Scott is an unknown but that might actually be better in this case.

One good thing about having Golding as DC is that his background is actually as a DB coach, plus Saban likes to get in on those DB drills. So our pool of possible replacement coaches could theoretically include LB coaches, not just DB coaches.
Hopefully we can keep him, but if not I'm 100% sure Saban won't disappoint on a replacement.
ETA: Would be funny to get Travis Williams just to piss off the aubies since they were so pissed Harsin didn't keep him (plus he is a good coach).

Karl Scott to Maryland.
Jeremy Pruitt to Alabama.
Problem solved.

UNC out here officially announcing Larry Porter as a replacement before we announce Gillespie

O'Brien was hitting up recruits way before it was officially announced that he would be the OC. Saban sure doesn't get in a hurry when it comes to announcing his new hires, that's for sure.

I would like to see us get Corey Redmond just for the LSU melt.
