Stephen M Smith has always been shite. I remember when I first saw videos he posted thinking how low the bar has gotten for “reporters”. He doesn’t know shite about anything.

I was reading their board earlier (hoping for a meltdown) and saw the Nakos tweet about “fake cash”.
I also saw another poster in their thread say that AU is waiting until closer to signing day to give recruits specific figures related to NIL deals. Interesting strategy. Not sure if I buy it.

Their fans are insisting that Saban is the one recruiting all of these star players and not DeBoer. Bama lives rent free in those idiots’ heads.

2008 -2010: Bama's only good bc Saban is oversigning recruits then greyshirting the ones he doesn't want.
2011-2013: Bama's only good bc they get all the calls AND paying players.
2014-2017: Bama's only good bc they get all the calls, don't play anybody AND are giving recruits Dodge Chargers.
2018-2019: Bama's not as good and Saban's lost it because Kirby left.
2020: Bama only went 13-0, had 4 1st Rounders, and a Heisman winner bc the stadiums weren't full to see us lose by 30 bc of COVID.
2021-2022: Bama's not that good and only made the natty bc UGA got the flu in the SECCG.
2023: Bama isn't good at all bc they lost to Texas and only won every other game bc of luck and ESPN wanting to give Saban one more title run.
2024: Saban's gone. Bama's burning. Deboer won't be able to recruit in the South bc of *gestures wildly* Bryan Harsin? Also, they have no money for NIL and can't cheat anymore.
2025: Bama's STILL ONLY GOOD bc I saw a pic on social media of Saban and a 5 Star RB during his visit, and since I've already done ALL THE OTHER mental gymnastics why not one more -- Saban is still in charge of recruiting.

The OG barn excuse was “he’s never going to be able to recruit to Alabama like he did at LSU!” That was circa 2007. Auburn fans literally have a psychotic obsession with Alabama sports.

Ehh, a little farther than that, but to close for comfort...lot of AU boosters in the area, but one nice Bama booster and he draws up the NIL deals for the basketball recruits.

There are quite a few AU and LSU fans that will go for a drive to clear their heads (with a .357 mag) if/when DeBoer brings a natty trophy to TTown.

Freeze was always such a weird hire to me. Aside from his creepy and morally bankrupt behavior his coaching resume has some pretty big red flags.
“Wins” at Ole Miss by blatantly paying players pre-NiL and has the NCAA camped out in Oxford and is fired without even winning the West. The wins at Liberty by basically being the D-1 equivalent of Last Chance U, bringing in character issues and kids who can’t get cleared at traditional schools because Liberty is a grifter Bible college with a football team.
How was hiring a guy who has only had success because he cheats in recruiting supposed to work when you can’t really cheat in recruiting anymore?

Freeze is in a position right now where he has to beat Alabama and Georgia at home in 2025 or they will likely run him off.

That’s about the dumbest thing I’ve heard so far in regards to recruiting in this era. It’s a really low percentage of kids that actually flip. It’s just the ones that do make a lot of waves. Basing an entire class off flipping near NSD isn't exactly fool proof. There’s a lot of evidence out there that the new revenue sharing actually keeps kids in the fold more.

I would not put anything past the barn especially if for some reason they had a good season. One that I do not believe will happen. But I do believe there will be flips across the board for many programs. Recruits now hold the schools hostage no matter the school. They are getting monthly checks just to stay committed. But they also know any guarantee to receive a big payday from the school can change as well.
Until we get to the points that these recruits are required to sign contracts nothing is a guaranteed.
