I meant to mention him. Also, Levi Wallace was a walk on. I’d say he was a bit underrated

Might as well include Chance Womack and I am pretty sure at least one service before they committed had both Ingram and Hightower as a 3 star.

quote:the profit sharing thing is actually going to be good for us, it's the high dollar boosters we don't have. Part of that settlement is that nil deals have to go through review to weed out the straight up pay for play deals that Texas, Oregon, Michigan are doing. We have been trying to do legit nil stuff and everyone else is just getting their billionaire alums to buy players. The deal puts us back on even footing when it goes into effect
Our athletics dept profited 214 million dollars last year, 2nd only to Texas.

Rashad Johnson was a walk-on.

The clearinghouse that reviews these deals is going to implode the first time a player challenges it in court.

I think the point Diego and I are making is that there isnt a problem with three stars and evaluating diamonds in the rough, but that's a different story than saying we're taking loads of 3 stars to save money against similar revenue generating programs.
That and the "we're doing it because of roster limits" angle when Texas, UGA, Auburn, etc. aren't doesn't make sense either. If there was a roster limit angle those teams would be doing such a strategy. If we're waiting on bigger fish and are moving slow on this class, that's a different story than what people are spinning

Your argument doesn't really hold water because if you look at the ON3 recruiting rankings right now, Texas has six 3 stars currently committed, Georgia five 3 stars. Current top team USC has 10 of them, Texas A&M has 3, Notre Dame with 4.
It's the new landscape. There is only so much money to go around. The best teams will still have the majority of their talent coming from 4-5 star guys but every team is going to sign more 3 stars.

Again its not that we are.getting 3 stars. Its that people were saying our recruiting is about to take off and I'm sure people didn't expect it to be these guys. I know we have higher ranked guys still going to commit tho. Also I wish we would attack in state more.

I will trust the staff to evaluate and develop. The same staff that had a loaded roster with 3 stars just 2 years ago and made it to the NC.

Everyone just needs to calm down.
DeBoer has been elite in year 2 throughout his career. Let’s wait until this season is over before we say anything.

Hard to trust anyone who had 4 throwing the ball as much as they did last year. We will see.

Hmm.
It's not just him, but the people who transferred out of program were the issue.
Not all is on CKD.
Trust the coach to do their job. Just sit back as a fan and enjoy this team.

I get your point, but the greatest college football coach of all time, also had #4 chunking the ball around the previous season. We also have a new offensive coordinator with a proven track record of developing offenses.
As far as recruiting goes, Deboer’s first full signing class with Bama, he signed as many 5 stars as the whole ACC conference if I’m not mistaken. I think we have a pretty good coach that’s going to win a lot of games if the fan base can give this guy a fair shot and sit back and enjoy this team like Panthers4life mentioned above.
Anyway, when/who is the next prospect to possibly commit?

And Zay Hall on Friday. ILB prospect from Tuscaloosa. BOL just predicted him to Alabama.
Owen Cabell on Monday. WR from Nashville. Also predicted to Alabama by BOL.

Any word on how Alabama stands with Xavier Griffin ? I know they've been the perceived leader for awhile but haven't heard much since. He seems to keep a low profile.
