Not really when you look around and see how critical the run game is in football right now. It makes or breaks a team.

I'm okay with piling up RBs so we can make sure the top guy is elite

I'm sure that will end now that #4 is gone.

That was one thing that was so maddening for me. Can't tell you how many times Radio should have given the RB the ball when it was obvious the DE or LB was clearly expecting Radio to keep the ball and Radio gets stopped either for a loss or no gain. :ang

Milroe, in addition to being stupid, was selfish. God, I'm so glad his stupid arse is gone.

Games are won and lost on the line of scrimmage.

The reality is if even before Milroe went to his worse version we were getting whipp on the LOS and because he so mentally weak he just falls apart.

It's also why we couldn't sustain a run game and started using our RBs to lead block. Hard to consistently run when we can only have sustained success running between tackles and our OC doesn't like calling direct runs between the tackles, our QB sucks at read options and our OTs barely pass block and sometimes run block

I suspect that we're going to lose someone if they're shopping tailbacks.

Milroe siphoning carries away from the RB's is over.

Maybe in the event there is a QB keeper with the next guy, that QB will actually be able to read a defense and know exactly WHEN to keep it or hand it off.

A guy can dream.

jmo, but it seems to me that both ol and dl started suffering after the s&c program was changed up. bama always had big linemen under cns, but they were strong and could move. then they became huuge and werent as quick and no where near as strong. fat-n-slow is no way to win championships

So the OC just let him do this and didn't just run straight running plays for the RB?

Seriously common sense should make these conspiracies silly but as the saying goes it ain't that common

There are 168 carries to be redirected to RBs.

My issue is that those carries were inefficient because the last two years he averaged 3.3 and 4.3 YPC.

How often were we under center or in pistol? It's pretty rare these days for run plays out of shotgun to not include an option for the QB to keep the ball.

We don't have to be under center to call plays where our RB hands off with no option.

We just didn't call them.

When we ran those kick hitters up the middle against Oklahoma. They worked. So why didn't we continue to do them?

This is all about playcalling.

It should be called "The Y Star-let me defend Milroe no matter how God awful he is" thread.
