I hope he turns into the next Travis Hunter.
I’ve always had the opinion that Mbakwe should get the football more. We’ve seen what Ryan Williams can do with the football. Mbakwe was just as dangerous in high school

He had trouble fielding one punt, but not sure if he had any other ball handling issues.

Great athlete and he might turn out amazing but to assume he’s Travis Hunter 2.0 without having shown much so far seems a bit of a stretch.

AU fans enjoying this period - what a joke. Since everyone can pay for players AU hasn’t had a winning season, much less being able to even dream about championships.
AU’s only solace is that Alabama is not as dominant as they were through 2020, but the drop off began under Saban. Once CKD gets his tenure stabilized, especially on O, the D is already almost stable, then we wil see.
Alabama seems to have broken the JH spell, having delivered two consecutive soul-crushing, last-second assassinations. In the meantime, one thing seems certain - AU will rarely if ever win in BDS, their House of Horrors. Not last second murders but methodical strangulations by 2-5 touchdowns. Your current offensive staff appears to be too dumb to compete with equivalent or better D talent like Alabama will usually if not always have.
Your brain trust hired a man who’s offense knew how to exploit the weaknesses in Saban’s D but he’s gone now and you are stuck with “just another spread guy” a little behind the times but doesn’t know it and/or doesn’t care - just willing and happy to take AU’s money.

Cornerback but wants playing time as a receiver.

In high school, he played receiver and cornerback. In his senior year he played quarterback. He played more offense and defense.

Cibolo?
That's like 20 miles away from me.

Reported he is with WR and wearing number 6 at bowl practice.
Honestly he struggled at CB so this is a good thing for him and us.
He's very explosive

Too bad bag men are out of business now, otherwise we would have our man

He spent his senior year at QB and he was an unstoppable dual threat. If it wouldn't cause Simpson to leave, I'd say let him play the meaningless bowl game just for the hell of it.

So, a player that spent this season as a DB is going to learn the offense and play QB in 2 weeks.
Is that your story?
C'mon Man

Jesus Christ, dumbass. It's a throwaway comment on a message board.

I think Mbakwe could fill a role if needed in the future as an emergency contingency QB (essentially 4th string) He's small, but he's a good athlete.

Don’t let em get to you, lol. There’s some ornery A holes here that love to bitch about anything. I know it was said in a half joking way, but I watched Mbakwe play QB in high school too, and he was dang near unstoppable. I honestly don’t think it would be a terrible idea to start letting him get a few snaps during practice at quarterback to run a few plays here and there. I remember we used David Palmer like that in the 90’s and a lot of teams had trouble defending it and they knew it was coming. Mbakwe is real shifty like Palmer and probably has more straight line speed.

I can see DeBoer drawing up some tricky plays that are handoffs/tosses with the option to pass once he gets it, or even some direct snaps. That seems like it would be maddening for opposing defenses.
