I like it. Especially considering how many highly ranked dudes we've gone through the last few years that have not lived up to their ranking.

Courtney just said "or they're not that good".

Finding a diamond in the rough is great, and you dont want to let a great talent like Eddie Jackson, Amari Cooper, or Josh Jacobs slip through the cracks, but big time players want to play with/against big time players.

Name recognition and high profile recruits help recruit other high profile recruits. Look none further than Ryan Williams and Bak. Those two are going to make each other a lot of money in practice come draft day.

Point being his philosophy while sound and true, still comes across a little "this was our mentality at UW."

I think they'll find they're gonna like signing as many five stars as possible to compete in the SEC.

You think amari cooper was a Diamond in the rough? He was like a top 50 player

His philosophy of finding the best players despite what players go to a certain recruiting services camp or have better resources to put themselves out there is “UWish?” Sounds like they’re talent evaluators to me

Haven't seen anything, of the 470 or so 4 and 5 stars on 247's composite 14 are unsigned (including Carter and Williams) and of those unsigned 4 are uncommitted. As far as I can tell nothing is going on but you never know. I say it every year but NSD is dead and buried for the most part. With Saban gone, the staff being new and so few options it is hard to predict any fireworks.

I haven’t heard anything. Just seeing if anyone else might have some information.

Not when he camped with Bama. It was Cris Carter that pulled Saban to the side and told him Cooper was the best WR there. I think his son Duron Carter was also camping or something. Cooper recruitment blew up later.

That's great and all, but let's not act like the teams with the most five stars don't usually win the title. Bama, Uga, Ohio State, etc.

And I think you’ll find they go after plenty of five stars and top players. But that’s not what he said at all If you’d actually listen to him

Eta or hell just read this thread
