Well played... recruiting is killing it but injuries are always such a downer, esp with the heisman candidate QB

UGA doesn’t have the great pass rush they had last year. I think he will be fine .

Just to piggyback off of this.

UGA ranks 114th in the nation with 14 sacks on the season!!!

Hey, give them credit, they have 4 more sacks than Isaiah Buggs

Kirby Smart defenses have always been feast or famine on sacks unless they have an elite talent in the front 7.

TF is going on where the only coaches that get jobs are from Bama no matter how young or inexperienced they are.

There has to be more experienced qualified coaches on other staffs out there somewhere.

Here soon every head coach in America will be a Bama assistant coach with zero head coaching experience.

While I'm ranting about coaches I'll take this opportunity to throw in my bring Bo Davis back pitch.

Hes eligible next season, and I don't care what position or what role, but get his arse back on the staff.

But all muh five stars !

Slowly but surely I think some recruits are figuring out uga is not developing all that well. Some big names have disappeared over there.

Their pass rush is comically bad. I haven't worried one moment about that game.

Yep, because he refuses to blitz. That was one of the greatest things about having Pruitt was how aggressive he was. Tosh seems to be in that same mold.

In fairness, we took Golding to be "Co-DC" from UTSA where he was developing a pretty good reputation. I feel like we tried to get out in front with him but ultimately I can't see Tosh being ready to move on anytime soon, so my guess is we will lose Golding sooner rather than later so he can go somewhere and be the playcaller.

South: Class of 2019 five-star check-up

quote:

The clock is ticking for those who plan to sign in December during the Early Signing Period (December 19-22), which most five-star prospects in the South do, and there are some real storylines around the best in the South.

Recruiting analyst Chad Simmons takes a look at the class of 2019 five-stars in his states of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. Some are still open, some are committed and looking and some are locked in on the schools they are committed to.

George Pickens

George Pickens is a name I have my eye on. He was back in Athens for another visit to Georgia for the Auburn game. Was he there to truly look at Georgia or was he there to see Auburn, the school he is committed to? Maybe a little of both. I don’t see Georgia as a real threat to Auburn at this time. Alabama is the school to watch. Pickens has visited Tuscaloosa this fall and he will be back. I think this race has tightened this fall and Alabama is a legit contender here. Florida State, Georgia and a few others are still working Pickens, but this one is likely going to come down to Alabama and Auburn.

Ishmael Sopsher

Ishmael Sopsher does not say a lot, but he sure is talked about often. He is an elite interior defensive lineman and this is going to be a war between Alabama and LSU. Can Alabama take another top talent out of the Boot State? They have done it before and some feel the Crimson Tide have the edge. I hear more buzz around Alabama personally, but this is going to be a very tough one for Nick Saban. Sopsher is so close to Ed Orgeron, and he knows he is a priority for Coach O and that staff. Can he tell Orgeron no? That is the biggest question. This one will go all the way until February.

Clay Webb

Clay Webb is different. He has been fun to cover because he is who he is and he goes about his business a little differently than most other top recruits. He has never posted offers. He never talks about who he is visiting. He is one of the most reserved recruits I have ever covered. He will keep most guessing until he announces his decision. Does he already know where he is going? Some think Clemson. Some think Georgia. Alabama at one time was the school all had him locked into, but have the Tigers and Bulldogs passed the Crimson Tide? Webb was back at Georgia Saturday, a week after he visited Clemson. Those two schools seem to be in front based on what I am hearing. As of now, I do not think he takes any official visits before he makes his decision. Webb is not going to say much, if anything about his recruitment, so stay tuned, he will announce his decision next month.

Southeast Spotlight: Programs that should make noise

Recruiting is starting to heat up as the college football regular season is coming to an end and the Early Signing Period looms large on the horizon. ALABAMA

Just how good will the 2019 Alabama recruiting class be? That is the question asked the most right now. We know it will be good, but how good? The Crimson Tide sit atop the Rivals.com Team Recruiting Rankings with 21 commits, but they are far from done. They have some elite targets still out there, such as five-star offensive tackle Darnell Wright, five-star center Clay Webb, five-star running back Trey Sanders, five-star defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher and five-star defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux. Another five-star, wide receiver George Pickens, is an Auburn commit that Alabama is working hard to flip.

How many five-stars will Alabama add? Can the Crimson Tide flip a guy such as Pickens or Mississippi State commit Nathan Pickering? It is an exciting time to track the Tide’s recruiting battles.

JJ Evans was shocked by Alabama’s offer

quote:

2020 4-Star wide receiver, JJ Evans, received an offer from Alabama on Saturday.

Touchdown Alabama reported he was a guy to look out for in October. When Alabama offered Evans an invite to a game, he knew had to go to one as soon as he got a chance.

“I never went to an Alabama game on an invitation,” Evans said. “So I decided I needed to go to that one.”

Evans got a chance to experience many of the sights and sounds of an Alabama Saturday and it was a special turn of events that lead him to realize he received an offer from Alabama.

“After I registered, Coach Gattis call me over and said he wanted me to meet some of the staff,” Evans said. “I meet some of the staff and he instructed me to go into the locker room and sit on the couch. I went and soon as I walked in, I saw coach Saban and he told me “come and take a seat man and nice to finally meet you”, He shooked my hand and was telling me he watch my film and he was impressed. He told me I had an opportunity to play there because the receivers they have now will probably be in the draft by the time I come and they wanted to offer me.”

Evan was shocked that the Tide offered him, but offers are nothing new to Evans. He racked up 8 in October alone. He started October with 0 offers. His offer numbers now stand at 12 and teams are clamoring for his services and it is easy to tell why.

The 6-feet-2-inches 185 pounder racked up 57 receptions, 1410 receiving yards, and 17 touchdowns through nine games this past season. His breakaway speed combined with his frame makes him a weapon.

Alabama has one commit from an in-state wide receiver in Dazalin Worsham for the 2020 recruiting class. They hope their fortunes are the same with Evans as they will look to add a couple wideouts in 2020 to fill the gap that Jerry Jeudy, DeVonta Smith, and Henry Ruggs will leave once they decide to leave the program.
