Quote...My son told me he's heard Coach "Kool" is leaving and we're wondering would that open a door for Coach Bo Davis?
Anybody heard this rumor? One year and done is quick for Nick.

It's in the Bud Foster thread on BOL.

One of the guys (not Cole) on 3 Man Front said that he was pretty confident Kool would not be back.

You have to think Kool and Saban don't see eye to eye if this is only a one year thing.

This is pretty shocking.

I think we will learn a lot from what Nick Saban does in these coming days/weeks. One year coaches for Nick speaks volumes. Applewhite and Greg Brown (DB's) are two I recall that traveled after on year.
Add Rod Middleton (wife's health I think)
James Willis (went with Tubbs at Mike Leach U)

We need a home run hire for DL coach if true. And Bo Davis ain’t it. Frick him. He broke the rules once, he’ll do it again. How about Todd Bates from Clemson? Hard to argue with his results both recruiting and on the field.

Just said the same thing today. Bates would be a great hire. Blank check to come back home.

Last defensive line coach we got from Clemson was underwhelming, imo.

Rumph stayed just two years at Bama.

Sorry but Bama is not considered a lateral move and deep down you know this. Take off the purple and gold glasses. Florida and Auburn would be lateral moves but Bama isn’t.

Pretty sure there is language that states he can't leave LSU to become a dc within a certain mileage.
Correct

He must pay 50 percent of his remaining salary if he leaves for a non-head coaching job in the Southeastern Conference or “a Football Bowl Subdivision football program within a 500 miles radius of LSU,” the contract reads..."

wasnt coach kool supposed to be a homerun hire?
Posted on 1/9/19 at 8:31 pm to crimsontater
Kool and Saban never worked together either. They may have different philosophies. Kool may not like how demanding Saban is. There’s a million reasons he could be leaving. Doesn’t mean he’s a bad coach.

Doesn’t mean he is leaving either. We will just have to wait and see.
