1. How high will Antonio Alfano go?
Alfano really impressed throughout the week in San Antonio for the All-American Bowl and this five-star seems poised to make another jump in the rankings. His dominant performance from start to finish last week surprised many of the analysts that were in attendance and is consistent with his performance throughout his senior campaign.
There isn't a ton of room for Alfano to move up in the rankings, but No. 22 seems a little low for the Alabama signee, given everything he was able to accomplish during the All-American Bowl.
Consistent positive reviews on stock reports after practices and the All-American Bowl give Alfano the resume to push his ranking up, but we will have to see how everything shakes out.

3. Can Darnell Wright keep the No. 1 spot in the offensive tackle rankings?
Wright has been a five-star and the No.1-ranked offensive tackle since the rankings came out for the 2019 class, but there were times at the Under Armour All-America Game practices when he did not look like the dominant player we were accustomed to seeing. Wright didn’t necessarily look bad on any specific day, but his performance certainly left the door open for other offensive tackles to push for the top spot in the position ranking.
Wright will have to lose some bad weight once he arrives on a college campus, but his outstanding athleticism was easy to see. Technical issues with his pass blocking and balance will get worked out as his career progresses.

Southeast Spotlight: Toughest final 2019 ranking decisions
quote:
The majority of 2019 prospects at the FBS level have already signed their letters of intent, but football continued to be played after last month's postseason update of the Rivals250 and Rivals100. Next week the final 2019 class rankings will be released, and several big questions in the Southeast region are set to be answered.

HOW HIGH DOES CROSS GO?
Charles Cross made a big move in last rankings update because we finally got to see him in action. The offensive tackle from Laurel, Miss. went from a three-star to inside the Rivals100. He will go higher, but how high is the question?
The Mississippi State signee is so athletic. He is a lean lineman, but in San Antonio, he showed the strength, footwork, bend and ability to be considered one of the top offensive tackles in the country.
Cross is the No. 12-ranked tackle heading into this week and he is likely to land in the top five somewhere. The top three are currently five-star prospects, so could Cross be in that discussion? Evan Neal has the top spot secured, but there will have to be some tough decisions made after that. Cross will be one we have to really talk about.
So Evan Neal is getting a bump.

Damn it has taken me a minute to emotional handle Monday. The truth is though I handled this way better than two years ago
. Man I'm glad I'm not in the office much.
Anyway I'm glad to see Byron Young with the Roll Tide after the Natty. I think he is important to this class. I read somewhere he helped recruit Bogle during the AA Bowl so I feel good about him for the moment.
I know some don't want him now, but I still think Sospher ends up here. I think the brother stuff is all a smokescreen. It is too on the nose.
We will see though. I'm assuming we find out who is going pro Friday. That will be an interesting list.

I'm also feeling like Ishmael Sopsher ends up rolling with Tide. Maybe Rodney Jr can punt.
Eta: "Right now the only guys I feel confident in continuing to project to UA are To'oto'o and Sopsher. As for the commits that didn't sign, it's hard to say. I still think Byron Young will remain in the class. Christian Williams, I'm not so confident on. Don't really know what to think on Keilan Robinson since he's not saying much." -- Hank
Eta: I did a Projected 2019 Roster (85-man). It includes our 2019 signees, commits Robinson and Young (but not Williams), plus To'oto'o and Sopsher. I think I'm pretty close on departures. Bulovas and DeLong are included for now. I'll keep updating it. And we'll put link to it in this thread's 1st post.

Nolacapstone is saying Saban has reached out to Dave Aranda for a potential spot on the staff.
Hmm.
Hmm.

If we get Aranda, Tosh can take a hike.
ETA: he ain’t coming for a position coach job. I still say Golding should be DC. Hire another LB coach if Tosh doesn’t want to stay.

If anything, this loss gives us a recruiting pitch to defensive players. Be the plug that wins Bama another national championship

Do they release NSFW: It's Meltdown Time! During the off-season? Because we would need one.

I like him as a coach, but he's not a very good recruiter.

Agree. It would be an epic meltdown.

We’ve got plenty of recruiters on staff at the moment. We need a couple of cutthroat tacticians.
