I wouldnt. He would have all the good kids there. Just saw a video where he and snoop dogg had a little league game. Kids from Miami vs LA. They have to love him.

Makes no sense. Cooper was a top 5 rated wr coming out of high school. Herb was the 50th.

That sounds a lot like what L8U did.

Yea they could have had a “name “ coach for sure. Really the only job on the market worth a damn in a talent rich area with history and they settle for Diaz without even looking elsewhere

Good.

Last night, Tim Watts said we're "in a very good spot" with To'oto'o. It looks like the plan is this:

24 early signees + 5 more on NSD:
(1) RB - Robinson (commit)
(2) DL - Young (commit)
(3) DL - Sopsher, Pickering, Fuller or Sorrells
(4) LB - Bogle (commit)
(5) LB - To'oto'o
29 Total

Since we have basically seen all we can of all the prospects on the field based on personal preference, how would you rank these DT/DL targets: Sospher, Pickering, Fuller and Sorrells. I'm not asking who is the most talented but who you like the best currently and why?

Pickering.... he showed out recently. Had a very high motor and we have been on him for a long time. Sopsher is gifted but lacks the drive some expect of him. This is what i read anyway

Do you think Fuller would be able to play DT for us or is he best suited for DE?

We’ve been after Pickering for a long time to flip and he’s yet to waver. Aren’t we just wasting our time or is there reason to believe we can sway him?

Don’t have a problem with it as long as the staff(and I’m sure thy are) are staying after other recruits that can fill that need. If Pickering is that good then why not pursue until there is no chance. How many of these kids decide or have a change of heart the hour before they sign.

ETA: the b st part of ESD is that if you’ve secured all but a handful of signatures you have plenty enough staff to heavily recruit the five or six you need to finish the class off. Other than ToTo, everything else is icing with the kmy de already on board. At this point Bama is just piling on.

Winning another championship could be all we need to get Pickering over the fence

We didn’t build multiple #1 classes by giving up on any big time prospect that looked like it would be a challenge

Pickering mom wants him at MSU . It’s hard enough to get Sip boys to leave . IMO you can about write him off unless Moorhead does something stupid down the stretch

Thanks Bear, that’s what I was asking. I don’t expect the staff to give up, I just wondered if we had a realistic expectation of flipping him.

I see our serial downvoter is back.

Do you mean lack of info?

Yes.

Obviously when Saban came in he made access to the team much more difficult, and I understood the quality of the practice reports being diminished at that time, but now it's as if most outlets don't even attempt to provide a decent day-to-day report of the progress of the team.

I remember when the local Bama beat guys would take the time to comment on physical development of players throughout the season, and take the time to comment on their improvement from a technique POV.

IMO the coverage has gotten exponentially worse the last three or four years. They seem content to blame the short media period for their lack of coverage, but they could easily provide more information if they had the desire to do so.

I used to put together the weekly practice reports for another Bama forum, and can speak to the reality that practice reports have been heading downhill annually for years.

You can get more behind a paywall which is sad for a program like Bama that the fans have to pay to get decent coverage.

Travis Reir has always made his instant analysis available, and honestly if you're not paying for premium coverage his two-days-a-week of instant analysis is probably the closest thing you are going to get to a decent report, but it is still lacking for a program in the midst of a dynasty IMO.

If this team wasn't in the midst of chasing titles annually I dont know how fans could stay intrigued with how hard it is to read about the development of the team. (relative to checking in daily vs just simply tuning in on Saturdays to watch the games)

While Pickering is unlikely to flip (I would say under a 10 % chance) and his mom wants him at MSU he did not sign early and is taking all his visits including one to Tuscaloosa on Jan 11. He has on occasion expressed a little waivering on social media although I wouldn't take that too seriously. He is well worth the time to recruit in case he changes his mind.

Funny enough Tuscaloosa is slightly closer to Seminary than Starkville.
