Marcus Banks

Wide receivers were frustrated by Banks on Thursday because they could not shake the Texan. Banks was in the receivers’ hip pockets during one-on-ones and 7-on-7s, and quarterbacks who tried to throw his way had their passes batted down. The Rivals250 prospect, who remains unsigned, was aggressive with receivers throughout their routes, but maintained discipline and competed in a way that would not draw a flag. He and fellow Texan Tyler Owens on the same side of the field will be a dynamite tandem for the West defense.

Byron Young

While five-star Antonio Alfano has made the biggest plays from the interior defensive line position on the East team during the first two practices, it was Young who did the best job collapsing the pocket on Thursday. Working against offensive center Harry Miller, who himself has had a solid week of practices, Young could not be stopped during the short team live period on Thursday. An Alabama commit, Young keeps his pad level low and his momentum pushing upfield.

Marcus Banks

Alabama has gotten much more heavily involved with Banks in the last few weeks and it could pay off on Saturday when the four-star cornerback makes his decision. Over the week here at the All-American Bowl, there have been a lot more whispers about Banks ending up with the Crimson Tide. Once an LSU commit, it looked like Texas A&M was the outright leader for the Spring (Texas) Dekaney recruit but that’s not so certain anymore. Florida State is also trying hard with Banks, who grew up watching the Seminoles and his dad played for the team. This one is really close to call.

Chris Braswell

Chris Braswell is already an Alabama commit, and he looked like a prospect the Crimson Tide and many others would target. He is ranked as a weakside end, but he worked at linebacker Thursday and he was impressive. He may not have been as strong in coverage as he was in the drills, but at his size, he is fluid, he is athletic and he looks like he could be a nightmare outside linebacker on the edge in Tuscaloosa.

Julian Fleming

Easily the most physically imposing receiver on the field, Julian Fleming is a huge downfield threat. He is so explosive off the line and defensive backs didn’t even try jamming him to slow him down. He made some very impressive catches on crossing routes and with defensive backs hanging on his back.
