Meh, the Dawgs in my office ain't saying shite. I'm a gracious winner and they've all been down the "recruiting wins" road before. They're secretly fist bumping but they know that publicly there's nothing to say until they get over the hump.

I don't want this to sound like a "we didn't want them anyway" post..but Alabama is a different place. We've been dominant over the last decade and talent has a lot to do with that, but not every 5 star kid is cut out for playing at Alabama. Our mentality has played a large part in our success as well, and that starts with getting kids on board that are willing to work. Sure, you take chances on a high maintenance kid with a load of talent, but those guys just don't always pan out. We didn't beat Georgia earlier this month because we have a lot more talent. We beat them because our guys have more mental toughness than their guys and that was clear for all to see.

Does it suck missing out on these guys at the 11th hour? Of course it does, but I'm just not ready to melt yet. We ran roughshod over this league in 2008 with a bunch of Shula recruits because Saban turned them into hard mf'ers. The best player on our football team was the 17th rated defensive tackle in the county in his class. Eddie Jackson was a 3 star that got offered late, same with our best tailback. You can't accurately rate a recruiting class until 3 years have passed. We're all competitive and we want to see that #1 next to Alabama in everything, but at the end of the day we are going to have a solid class regardless, and I trust our guy to do a better job at developing the kids he gets more than I worry about anyone else developing who they get. You have to check your ego when you sign up to play here.

Before I take a breather for a bit, Imagine how you'd feel if guys like Quick, Alfano, Knight had committed today. It's not going to be the end of the world. At the end of the day we are getting elite talent and we have an elite coach. Ohio State technically has a more "talented" roster than we do and they have nothing to show for it. Georgia has a talented roster and they have nothing to show for it. Recruiting is the brick and mortar to building a championship program and we have THE world class architect.
