You’re right, conceding probably isn’t the correct term. I’ll just go with “not feeling good about.”

Thanks. I am sure it would mean missing out on some other prospects but I wish we could find room for D. Lee. Versatile so could fill in for depth at different positions and the conspiracy theories would be epic

LINK ]Breaking down upcoming decision for 5-star Kayvon Thibodeaux (247Sports)

quote:

It appears to be a race between Oregon and Alabama for the No. 2 overall recruit in the 247Sports Composite rankings. While ground can certainly be made up before the early signing period kicks off, Nick Saban is locked into a contest with former assistant Mario Cristobal to win the services of five-star Kayvon Thibodeaux.

A decision is expected Dec. 15 for the star out of Thousand Oaks (Calif.) Oaks Christian with less than a week until the fax machines heat up for the first signing period.

“I do think it’s (between) those two schools,” said 247Sports recruiting analyst Greg Biggins. “I don’t think Florida State is out. I don’t think Florida is necessarily out, but I do think it’s Alabama making that late run. We’ve talked about how Bama is so good at closing. Nick Saban was in the house last week. They do such a great job at this point in time. It used to be January, but now it’s December with the early signing period making those home visits."

Biggins placed a 247Sports Crystal Ball pick with Oregon for Thibodeaux in November. He dug deeper on the 247Sports Recruiting Podcast.

“I’m not ready to back off Oregon just yet,” Biggins said. “My crystal ball is still on the Ducks. But I do feel it’s extremely close. It’s a tight race. It could go either way. As of right now, I have a slight lead to Oregon, but Alabama is definitely trending up and we’ll see where it goes in the next couple of days. I don’t think it’s finished yet. I talked to someone close to his recruitment. They haven’t made a final decision yet. We’re three or four days away. I think they’ll lock that in pretty soon. It’s still up in the air between those two schools.”

Thibodeaux is unlikely to have more visits with final exams this week heading into the early signing period. The star pass rusher has already seen every expected contender up close. He ranks as the No. 2 overall recruit in 2019’s composite rankings. A total of 61 percent of Crystal Ball picks favor the Ducks while the Crimson Tide sit at 18 percent.

“I’m of the belief that Alabama has the edge right now talking to sources with knowledge of the recruitment, but I don’t think it’s a done deal,” said 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong. “I put my crystal ball on the Crimson Tide in the summer after spending time with Kayvon at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy and then talking to people around him. With Alabama’s track record of development of five-stars and the success that their five-stars have had on the field in relation to the NFL Draft, I think that’s a factor that’s really excited Kayvon.”

I would assume Hill is solid. He hasn’t indicated otherwise.

LSU now picking up CB’s for Dean’s teammate ATH Raydarious Jones. Doubtful it would seriously affect Dean’s decision though.

Yeah I’m still a little uneasy about that OSU mod making the CB for Hill back to Khaki Pants U.

He couldn’t put one in for Alabama after the fact. Just a “throw it against the wall and see if it sticks” moment.

Cool Dawg posted in the UGA board that Rusty said:

quote:

Rusty Mansell just posted some articles on 247. Said UGA is in an even better spot than he thought for Haselwood. Said Dean is still unknown. He says he is hearing both sides from different sources on him as far as UGA and BAMA.

Edit, thanks tidewarrior.

It was all a small trickery attempt in the main recruiting board. Just wanted to get everybody a blood pressure check. He didn't really say that lol so dont worry
