We will take 2 QBs as well in 19. Baby Tua and Tyson hopefully but we will definitely need 2. That’s the whole problem with the 85 number: you have at least one “need’ position every year. Miss on that one position for a recruiting cycle and it quickly snowballs to multiple needs at multiple positions and not enough schollys to fill them all.
Good call, as I think either Hurts or Jones will transfer.
My best guess for next year: 2QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 4OL, 5DL, 4LB, 1DB, 3S, 1K

For real though, what the hell happens with the extra scholarships? Grad transfers?
The smart move is to use them for 1 year on grad transfers. That way we can save the unused spots in this class to backcount 2019 EEs so we can take more than 25 in the 2019-class cycle.

I thought rules were made to prevent any sort of backcounting. That's good news, if true

At this point, I'm assuming it's actually the same person with two different accounts talking to himself.
Makes it more bearable.

I don't think Saban expected to get left at the altar so often

Pretty sure his latest said, re: Ross that Ross was a "luxury" if Alabama landed Waddle "as expected".
That about about an hour ago

Its not, seriously though im not understanding the scholly rules. So if we signed only 20 today then we should have 3 left over correct?

Ok when does he announce

I may be wrong, but my understanding is that EEs (from HS or Juco) still can be backcounted into unused spots in prior classes.

So that change of mind for ITS was just a rumor or what?

Tom Luginbill’s comments about Bama’s smaller class is easing my melt a little.

Agreed. But I think he learned a lesson. He has already overhauled a portion of the staff with younger, more dynamic recruiters. That is step number one. I have no doubt he knows that he can't be as picky at DL and LB, due to the whiffs we've had this cycle, especially with the former. My guess is, since we need SEVERAL players at those spots, if a quality player at those spots wants to commit, he will give him the green light and won't slow-play them or hold off. He knows we can't afford to do that and have them go elsewhere, or we will really be hurting in 2019. He knows we need to hit those spots out of the park, much like the DB position in thus class. Especially with the early signing spot, I expect we will have a ton of guys at those crucial spots sign early. That way, the staff can have a easier time focusing the last month or two down the stretch run until NSD.

I think you are spot on

He tweeted it himself.
He wants to be here, we didn't give him a spot. Question is if we whiff because of that or not. Really close to a Jarez Parks situation like last year.
Also, grades are allegedly an issue but they were also the same situation with Copeland(since December) and we pursued Copeland so
