Excuse my ignorance...but is Solomon the QB people on here have been saying will come in the fall and push Hurts for the starting job? Or am I completely off? As I said in a thread I posted earlier today, I am behind this year in the recruiting class. Didn't keep up with it.

Jumping to a lot of conclusions here. This isn't like Philon who was committed for months and then offered a gray shirt (weeks before signing day btw)
Parks has known for a while that his spot in this class is contingent on others. If that weren't the case then he would be committed. Fact is he wants to come to Alabama and didn't have a commitable offer when he realized that.
How is that Alabama's fault? I'd like to play at Alabama too. Doesn't mean they're going to give me a scholarship.

Hold on at no time did Alabama take a commitment from this kid. It's not like they pulled his scholarship. This is no where close to the Darius Philon situation. This kid wanted Alabama but there's just not enough room at this time. He still holds offers from florida and other big schools.

Why would Parks not know where he stood going into today? Sounds like he was only getting a spot if we missed on someone not named Solomon. If he knew that, why did he plan to announce at 9, and why is he crying?

Didn't Saban visit him in a helicopter just a week or so ago? Seemed like a want then. It might be that the kid is conflicted and has nothing to do with having a spot or not. (That's a total hypothetical on my part...i'm not in front of a TV to see the coverage)

If anything this Parks situation should let us all know that these recruiting sites aren't as tuned in to the numbers game as they let on.

I feel like those available spot numbers can easily change from week to week or day to day. I sound like one of the guys trying to sell the subscriptions, but it's certainly something to consider
