yeah, our front seven on d is going to be the best in football. i think ragland will be a special player with his size and athleticsim, depriest is solid, physical, and experienced, will play on sundays. rueben foster could be as good a backer as we have ever had if he stops knocking himself out

What do y'all think of Bell, Jennings and Curtis?
Jennings is vastly underrated......Should be a middle of the pack 4* (94-95 on 247Sports)......
Not sure on Custis. Watched tape of him where he won his Rivals MVP, and saw ALLOT of shirt grabbing. Seems physical, just not sure yet.
Bell seems to be a solid, team player. Nothing flashy, but nothing that stands out as negative.

The brakes. Pump them. We've had some extremely special backers at Bama. He's shown flashes that he could be very, very good, but nothing that makes me think he could be as good as any we've ever had. These two guys are a hard legacy to live up to...

Yes, I don't remember too many backers constantly knocking themselves unconscious.

Some dude on Tidesports is saying Flowers is being told by the staff to be prepared to play Safety.
Interdasting if true.

Are we looking to take four safeties in this class, or does the staff not feel as confident in Ronnie Harrison and Thompson/SBB sticking?

Part 2 of TL; DR:

Here’s part 2 of my visit to Bama. I was able to spend a couple days with a starting player and meet a lot of people. I’ll mix in things about players and things about the program that I just found interesting. I’ll start off with some more Oline. Arie K is a beast. He has bounced back from 2 knee injuries and is stronger than ever. Works hard and will not be pushed out of a job. Cam Robinson is a man and is so strong. So advanced for his age and just needs to keep working on technique. I asked if anyone would or could replace him and he didn’t know who. But one kid he loved was Dom Jackson. (not to replace Cam)Dom has been through a lot. Rough childhood and his brother was killed of multiple gunshots not long ago. Dom feels like he has to work extra hard for his family.
The players break down to different meeting rooms when they meet. Oline in one room. Running backs in another etc. They are stadium like seating and very nice. I’m sure most have seen pics but I’ll try to post one below. Anyway, one night my friend was walking past one of the meeting rooms and it was late, the building was empty and he noticed a light on and Dom Jackson was alone studying the playbook. He wants it bad. Always asking questions. I actually saw Dom working out in weight room and he stopped to talk to Ashawn Robinson. The 2 of them standing there together was a site to see. Two giants!!!
OJ Howard is awesome, as we know, and is going to have a big impact. But my friend loves Ty Flournoy Smith!! Said he catches everything, uses his big body well and can fly. He was so impressed with him. Said he will have a monster year. I said “can he block?” and he said “I don’t really know” and I said “well, he won’t see the field if he can’t block” and we just starting cracking up. It was a funny moment. Ty is another player looking for redemption. Had it all at UGA and blew it and had to go to JUCO so is wanting to make things right and prove he has changed. Kiffin loves him and is responsible as most know. The coaches were gone for the most part but I did see Cochran and Kiffin so that was exciting. Cochran was working the crowd in the weight room, meeting with visitors and recruits. I did see Vogler with a black walking boot on. Don’t know if that’s something I should post but sure someone else has. Don’t know why? Maybe it’s already been posted after ADay?
DB’s look good. My player friend isn’t worried about them at all. Said Eddie Jackson is running and he thinks will be fine. Said Landon Collins is a Freak athlete and will “show out” this year. Stuff we all have heard. Said Geno Smith and Jarrik Williams look good too. I talked to Jonathan Cook for a while. We have mutual friends. He has bulked up during his redshirt year and I don’t know how he is doing on the field but off the field he is such a nice kid. Well spoken, says yes sir, no sir, just a pleasure to talk too. He said he was glad he redshirted and was able to develop more. He said his old teammate back at Spanish Fort has his troubles behind him and he thinks he doing to JUCO. Ya’ll remember the Bama commitment wide receiver that got arrested for sexual assault. I think his name was Deon Johnson but it’s been a couple years so not sure. Anyway, glad to hear he isn’t throwing away all that talent sitting in jail.
I met Ryan Anderson and he is a spark plug around there. Big personality. Always smiling and cutting up. He comes in the pool room and is just all over the place messing with and talking to people. Everyone loves him and I hope he hasn’t been passed by for good. With the talent on campus I would guess he has but he’s so likeable and nice I hope he breaks through this year.
Ruben Foster is just like Ryan. Big personality. He walked over across the locker room and jumps on JReed. Goofing off. My friend said he is healthy and there is no one that compares to his talent. His neck is fine right now but with one tackle we know that could change. He said Ruben has to learn not to tackle so hard, which sounds funny when you’re talking about football. I said how does he do that and my friend said he has no idea. LOL But he did tell me that in practice one time Rubuen made 3 running backs fumble he hit all 3 so hard. Said it was like a highlight tape.
Okay getting tired of writing again but one last thing for now. Still have a lot more to share so will later. But there are several walk ons I met or at least saw. They are really the glue of the team. Get the team ready for the next game, running the other teams offence and stuff, plus do so much more but get little credit or recognition. I’m playing pool and here comes this little 5’6, 170 pound white kid walking in. (I’m also white) said who the hell is that!!! Thought he might be a kicker. (was hoping anyway, LOL) He bounces around to all these star players and they have a couple nicknames for him, like Michael J Fox etc lol. But he comes over to me and another player playing pool and wants NEXT. Which means whomever wins. I won so played him. His name is Daniel Geddes. He’s a senior and does what Saban says to do. Which is do your job and makes those around you better. That’s what Daniel does. Blood sweat and tears, like the rest but never sees the field. Great guy and he will no doubt be successful in life!

I cringe every time I see one of these type of posts on BOL.
So much homer. So much desire for attention.
So much desire for up votes.

If what he says about Arie is true, then Dom will be somewhere on the right side, which is where I like him. I think RT would be better, but as long as our best five start it really doesn't matter to me. It isn't up to me to decide who those 5 are. I do know that Dom is EXACTLY what we need on our line after last year.

Don't know how much time Ty will see, but having him and OJ both on the field at the same time could create so many opportunities, and I'm sure Saban/Kiffin recognize that.
