Yah it is but I think he's done

Kiffin's tactic of "First QB on Campus to commit gets the spot" thank GOD!!

I think Kiffin might've secretly snuck Mark "butt fumble" Sanchez on Campus to threaten the 3 others Bama staff had on Campus to finish his year of eligibility as our damn QB (because my damn dope emoticon doesn't work)

They are the University of Oklahoma, but still use OU because of their former name when Oklahoma was still a territory. But I think the laughter was over so many recruits referring to universities incorrectly. Among them "university of LSU" and "university of Auburn".

It may be correct, you just never hear it, similar to "Auburn College."

Reading through a tOSU chat, and it appears that the reason they backed off of Settle was that there were some big academic questions.

How much of the handler rumors were BS if tOSU is recruiting him again? Or does Urban Meyer not give a frick about the NCAA?

@LivingCrimson: HaHa Clinton-Dix: CB Bradley Sylve is faster than WR Amari Cooper. They raced 2x, Sylve won both. He's fastest on the team. via @TheGameWDGM

Not that surprising since Sylve was a legitimate high school track star but so was Tony Brown and Coop supposedly beat him in a foot race this spring

Barnett is really good friends with Jacques Patrick.

Intredasting.

Corona Santiago's Blake Barnett commits to Alabama
Email

Corona Santiago quarterback Blake Barnett, who once committed to Notre Dame, says he has committed to Alabama.

Blake Barnett, the standout senior quarterback from Corona Santiago who two weeks ago announced he was no longer committed to Notre Dame, said Wednesday he has committed to Alabama and is shutting down the recruiting process.

"I'm relieved and excited to be part of Alabama and what they have to offer," he said.

Barnett had been committed to Notre Dame since November, but he said, "As time went on, it confirmed in my mind I made the wrong decision. I realized that when I wanted to take visits to other schools."

The football recruiting process has been particularly unpredictable this year in Southern California at the quarterback position. Ricky Town, a senior at Ventura St. Bonaventure, was once committed to Alabama. Now he's committed to USC, whose former coach, Lane Kiffin, helped recruit Barnett to Alabama.

Oregon, which tried to recruit Barnett, made an offer Wednesday to San Clemente quarterback Sam Darnold. Alabama was also recruiting Anaheim Servite quarterback Travis Waller, who could end up at Notre Dame.

"It's kind of a crazy business seeing these colleges change their minds and kids, too," Barnett said. "It's hard to stay with the same mindset through all this. It's the hardest thing. A lot of my friends are going through the same thing. It could be stressful, but we're all getting used to it."

After losing a commitment from four-star quarterback Ricky Town in January, Alabama finally found its man at quarterback as ESPN 300 signal-caller Blake Barnett pledged to the Crimson Tide over Oregon on Wednesday.

Latest QB news more bad luck for Oregon recruiting
The No. 56 player nationally in the ESPN 300 announced his decision live on BleacherReport.com.

"I think when I went back there and speaking to the coaches ahead of time, that's when I really started to figure out that that was the place I really wanted to be," Barnett told ESPN.com.

"I think academically, athletically and as a person as well, I think it will develop me the best for my life in general. I fell in love with the campus itself and with the facilities obviously, but I think what Alabama can develop me to be is what really convinced me."

Barnett's relationship with Alabama coach Nick Saban and new offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin was also key.

Blake Barnett threw for more than 2,300 yards and 22 touchdowns as a high school junior.

"When I went back there, I got to see Coach Saban quite a bit -- I probably met with him six times or so over three days," he said. "So we spent a lot of time together and I had spoken with him several times on the phone, so I've built a great relationship with Coach Saban and Coach Kiffin as well, since he is my main recruiter. Those are the guys who will be coaching me, and I feel very comfortable with them."

Barnett was previously a Notre Dame pledge.

"I think I committed too early," he said of his initial Fighting Irish decision. "I made an impulse decision based off of emotion with my family. We kind of rushed in to things. I regret that [committing to Notre Dame] to this day. We just kind of made it off of impulse and weren't really thinking of things logically, and I realized that wasn't the place for me and that's not where I wanted to be."

As a junior at Santiago High School in Corona, California, Barnett threw for more than 2,300 yards and 22 touchdowns while also rushing for nearly 700 yards and 13 more scores.

Barnett was the first player invited to the 2014 Elite 11 finals after his performance at the Los Angeles regional in January. It's the third consecutive year the Crimson Tide have landed an Elite 11 finalist. Elite 11 is the nation's premier quarterback competition for prep athletes.

The Crimson Tide now have 19 commitments, including 16 in the ESPN 300. Alabama currently has the nation's No. 1 recruiting class. It has had the top class for the past three years.

The Crimson Tide have landed a commitment from a four-star QB recruit.

Quarterback recruit Blake Barnett has committed to Alabama over Oregon, a move from the Corona (Calif.) Santiago prospect that is somewhat surprising. The four-star recruit was a recent decommit from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Most expected the extremely mobile Barnett to pick Oregon, as his skills fit well with the Ducks.

But the recent visit to Alabama, and meeting with coaches Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin, won him over. Barnett cited the multiple quarterbacks Kiffin had produced when he was at USC, and it's easy to see Kiffin's West Coast connections paying off for Alabama on the recruiting trail.

Barnett stands 6'3 and checks in at 190 pounds.

Barnett is a player who naturally escapes pressure when in the pocket, is dangerous as a runner and is an accurate passer. His arm strength is good, but it is not huge. Nonetheless, he is an excellent quarterback prospect, one of the best in the country. He is also an early enrollee. It is yet to be seen how Alabama will feature his mobility, as Saban's and Kiffin's offenses have traditionally preferred pocket passers.

Alabama is seen as a lock to land the No. 1 recruiting class in the country and is now at 19 commitments, an incredible 15 of which are rated as four-stars or better by the 247sports.com composite.

Alabama, Auburn target Jalen Harris will announce decision next Tuesday

Jalen Harris is ready to announce his college decision.

The St. James School tight end tweeted Wednesday night that he'll be announcing his college decision next Tuesday at 6 p.m. at his high school. Harris announced a top five this past Sunday of Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Miami and Vanderbilt.

The 6-foot-4, 238-pound prospect has seen his recruiting profile blow up in recent months. In the month of June alone he has added offers from Alabama and Auburn. Harris grew up an Alabama fan and said he was "like a little kid in a candy store" when Alabama coach Nick Saban offered him a scholarship.

The two in-state schools are the two expected favorites to get good news when Harris announces his decision next Tuesday, but another Southeaster Conference school could be the wildcard to land the three-star prospect.

Vanderbilt is one of his five finalists, in part because former teammate C.J. Duncan signed with the Commodores in February.

"When C.J. was at St. James he was one of my best friends," Harris told AL.com in a previous interview. "We always talk and have kept in touch. I'd love to play with him again. He's a good leader and always makes sure everyone is on the right page."

Harris has reiterated one of the biggest factors in his decision will be an opportunity to play early. He has made multiple trips to both Alabama and Auburn in the past.
