-Kiffin played a huge role in his decision. He knew he wanted to commit before he left campus.
-His whole family made the trip (mom, dad, step mom). They didn't want to leave.
-His visit to Oregon is cancelled. No more visits.
-Barnett is very well connected to other recruits in this class. Should help at the Opening.
-Barton Simmons thinks he could be the #1 overall QB in terms of ability.
-Steve Wiltfong feels the same way.

ok, we got our obligatory qb and are sitting at 19 commits, and we are taking 26 this year. what else do we need, and who do we finish with? we need payne at NT no doubt, need an OT in this class (would like drew richmond as a bookend for robinson), will probably take another DE/OLB (lockhart), need another TE, maybe another DB. who else? another scholarship kicker bust?

@AndrewJBone: Spoke with someone close to #Rivals100 OL Tyler Carr today. Decision not likely this week. Torn between #Bama, #AU. Both staffs want him.

Former Auburn head coach Gene Chizik predicted Wednesday that Auburn will go 10-2 in the coming football season.
Chizik, on the College Sports Today show on Sirius satellite radio, said he expects Auburn to lose at home to South Carolina and on the road at Alabama.
Chizik said he believes South Carolina is “loaded” for the coming season. “I think South Carolina will get them,” he said.
Alabama got Chizik’s nod because the game is at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
“That’s almost one of those 50-50 deals,” Chizik said. “If the game was at Auburn, I would pick Auburn.”
Chizik was Auburn’s head coach from 2009-2012. His 2010 team, led by Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Cam Newton, went 14-0 and won the BCS national championship. He was fired after going 3-9 in 2012.

TIFWIW A good friend of mine is his (Tyler Carr) HS coach Larry Rose who started for Alabama all four years as a guard from 85-89.

I'm excited reading that his release has gotten better...that is his main issue from what I see...I am glad we got a guy who won't just be a warm butt though, Barnett has a lot of upside and will be able to develop a lot under Kiffin.

According to TSWSNBN, we lead for 2016 5-star OT Willie Allen from, you guessed it, Louisiana.

What I posted a while ago after watching a good bit of film on both:
Barnett has a good arm not as quick a release though and a lot of his calls are runs, seems to struggle with accuracy not as much deep but it's evident with the short 10 - 15 yard throws.
Barnett is very good but extremely raw and a bit one dimensional passer wise (easily coachable and also very possible the HC knew he was getting 10 - 15 yds a clip with the running plays and zone reads so all he called passing was deep passes). He also has a bad habit of needing to plant shift all the weight and launch shows less athleticism as a passer, he has some great wheels and speed and running it is almost 80% of his play calls from what I saw.
**Also didn't add that he absolutely is enigma like with decisions because on drops he had a slower plant and release but on boots and roll outs he could flick and shoot the ball downfield very far and fast with ease, again very possibly could be bad playcalling from the HC not using more boots and calling mostly zone reads
Barnett would be ok just a lot more work and a less high ceiling as a passer IMO
**Seems like he really put in the work to get better if there is already a noticeable difference in his release

"Bama is my number one school right now. I have LSU, UCLA, Florida- after my Alabama offer, I received two more offers from Oklahoma University and TCU. Bama was my 8th offer. I don't have a top five, right now. I'll wind up having my top five at the end of next football season. I want to visit Bama as many times as I can."
