In Barnett, #Bama is getting a QB with maybe more raw physical upside than any other signal caller in the nation, not close to peaking yet

Alabama has its class of 2015 quarterback. It's four-star Corona (Calif.) Santiago dual-threat talent Blake Barnett. The decision was made and it went public during an announcement Wednesday.
After the Ricky Town saga, things once seemed more bleak than not with Alabama landing an elite quarterback in the class of 2015.
Soon after national signing day 2014, however, then Notre Dame commitment Blake Barnett picked up a scholarship offer from the Crimson Tide. It was less than a month after Town decommitted and then committed to Lane Kiffin's former school, USC.
Alabama's new offensive coordinator had plenty to do with this win, but Nick Saban led the way during what Barnett said was six meetings over a three-day visit to Tuscaloosa last week.
Scout.com's No. 7 signal caller announced the news on BleacherReport.com..
"I'm officially committing to the University of Alabama," he said. "When I went down there I absolutely fell in love, I think Alabama is the school for me. It's a place that's going to build me as a person and as an athlete.
"I think that's going to develop me the best and make me the most successful in life."
Barnett later mentioned the coaches, current players, facilities and even the city of Tuscaloosa as things he liked experiencing for the first time last week -- all helping to solidify his decision over one-time overwhelming favorite Oregon.
The four-star was set to visit Eugene later this week, but those plans are now believed to be cancelled.
Alabama now sits at 19 commitments in the class of 2015, still No. 1 in the country on Scout. Saban and company are not expected to take any more quarterbacks in the cycle.

#Rivals100 QB Blake Barnett tells me that he will enroll at #Alabama in January.

The thing is, it's not like our roster is currently stacked with statue like QBs. Sims, Coker, Bateman, and Cornwell are all good athletes who can run though Barnett is probably faster than all of them except Sims.

What was his reason for decommitting from Notre Dame?
He saw the picture of Brian Kelly passed out with a dick on his face

Nice. Always good to get your QB in early.

I think that was Trey's summary of the 2013 BCSNCG.

No, but yes.
There was a rumor a few years ago that there was a picture if Kelly passed out at a frat party getting tea bagged.

I know that's not what you meant, but I laughed.

Just watched this kids tape. He doesnt seem to have the cornwell cannon, but he has a bit of the JFF extend the play and find someone down field thing.

Same here.
I'm not as excited as I hoped I would be.

Biggins remembers Barnett’s throwing motion being long and inconsistent in the past. Now, he says, Barnett has found a consistent release point and improved his motion to be quicker and tighter.
“You knew he made some strides pretty quickly, but the fact that it's happening even faster than I thought it would it shows how good he's going to be two or three years from now,” Biggins said. “If anyone wants to say he has the highest ceiling of any of the quarterbacks in this year's class, I don't think you can argue with that at all.”
If this is true then my excitement over Barnett just jumped up dramatically.
That was the one thing I really didn't like about him. I thought he needed a lot of work on his mechanics. If he's making big strides to iron them out already I think he's a great pickup.

That's how I have felt about Barnett for a while, but if he has truly improved his mechanics like that guy said then I'm happy.
His Senior film will be very telling on if he has fixed them.
