Quietly becoming the best former Alabama QB in the pros (maybe better than Jalen).

If he had the Eagles roster, they’d never lose more than 4 games a year. If that.

He was terrific today against maybe the best team in the NFL.

He really was.
I’m really glad he has a Natty (as a backup to Mac anyway). Those injuries to our WRs kept him from another.

Frankly, Jalen Hurts has been carried by the defense and OL for most of his career. He's still the same cat he was in college. 2025 Jalen Hurts looks suspiciously similar to 2017 Jalen Hurts right now.
I like Hurts a lot. He's a class act. Says all the right things. He's a great modern game manager quarterback though. He's very conservative with throwing the football to avoid bad turnovers. He can keep you on schedule with the QB scrambles and designed runs. If you have a great defense and run game, he can take you a long way but I wouldn't want the ball in his hands needing to win a game with 1 or 2 minutes left in the game.
Give me Bryce in that scenario...dude the exact kind of QB you need in the NFL: clutch late.

Jalen has his moment both ways. You can't take away what he has done in the Nfl though. Been to 2 super bowls, won one. Gonna have the nfl qb rushing td record when all is said and done. Betting he makes Hof.

Agree with much of this. Problem is he's not willing to acknowledge that (nor should he, I guess), so since he's been to two sb, he wanted a huge contract that reflects qb status. I don't know how general managers make decisions on guys they know are NOT a super bowl qb but are the best they're gonna get unless they get extremely lucky.

This is absolutely ridiculous to say. Hurts wasn't even the same QB from the 2017 to 2018 seasons, much less the same from 2017 to now.

Super Bowl MVP as well.

I'm just reporting what I'm seeing with my eyes. He's doing that rolling out and throwing it into the first row out of bounds shite that is like the exact opposite of Ty Simpson on 3rd down (not knowing when to fold em). He's gotten back into that mental mode where he's just trying to avoid turnovers and not trusting his receivers at all. That's why AJ Brown has been an especially whiny diva this year. The man ain't throwing to him unless he's wide arse open even though Brown is a pretty good receiver in "1 on 1...go up and get it" situations.

Let me dream man lol

He doesn't need to throw it up for 1/1. He's not wanting to make a throw unless someone is absolutely wide open.
But I'll say this: Hurts is as tough as nails as it comes. I will NEVER forget the Ole Miss game his freshman year. Ole Miss came out hot, got some big plays and built a lead. Late in the 2nd quarter (3 minutes left), they're up 17-3. Hurts drops back for a pass and gets absolutely nailed by an unblocked safety/lb. Scoop and score. Picture perfect tackle into his chest. Ball dropped straight down. Ole Miss is up 24-3. He comes back, makes some throws and a run, gets a score in a minute, Bama stops em and gets a TD on a punt return before the half. Probably Saban's best coaching, imo.

One thing I will amend is that I think he's regressed THIS year. He is a different player than he was when he left Alabama and even Oklahoma but he is having a bad year that feels a lot like 2017 Hurts right now. The OL has regressed due to injuries and I'm not really sure that this new OC has the tactician chops to adjust in-game against NFL DCs. Hurts is not putting the team on his back and carrying them. Simple truth is that franchise QBs are expected to do that in these situations.

I get that.
Far as BY, he's played better this year, and it's hard to know how much his current situation is to blame. He's pretty small, and that affects his success more than most realize, I think; I hope that the Panthers decide to go in a different direction and he can wind up at Pittsburgh.
