Been saying this since scrimmage 1. It’s almost the Grand Canyon in difference.

The team does love Jalen, the idea they don’t is stupid. Watch his birthday again if you don’t think so however, Tua is probably on the verge of legendary and there is likely nothing that stop him.

how big of a role Jalen will have.

I know he's played QB his whole life, but he'll never be a QB in the league.
He is such a superior athlete, I know there has to be a position he can land where he can make an impact.

I think it's his dad's fault. That he's dead-set on his boy being a QB and he won't let him just play where he's most suited.

Yep. If not for Tua's hand injury, the "QB battle" winner would've become obvious on A-Day.

I am sure, though, you have it all figured out, same as you did before when you said that Hurts can do anything Tua can do and there is nothing that Tua can do that Hurts cannot. Hurts can read the defense and make all the throws.

I am sure.

I have repeatedly admitted that I was wrong about Hurts when I wrote those words, and have stated what my erroneous opinion was based on - vanilla offense in September, and Hurts' strange excellent quarters versus LSU and Miss St. Additionally, Hurts' stymied development mid-year in year 2 has nothing to do with Tua's readiness or lack thereof mid-year in year 1.

You can continue to throw those words in my face all you want, but if being wrong about something precludes a person from contributing further opinions, then you can throw all your computers/cell phones away and cancel your internet completely, because you have no right to say a damn thing under those rules.

So, move on from it, or close your cake hole regarding your analysis. You and your terrible opinions can't have it both ways. You are easily among the 3 worst posters on this board as it relates to football understanding and analysis, and it's overtly obvious to everyone. That's your place around here.

I called Hurts' shortcomings as far back as mid 2016. Meanwhile, here is some more of your outstanding analysis leading up to last season's Auburn game.

"When we drop back to pass, au can rush the passer aggressively. If that's their plan, Hurts will have to hurt them with his feet often. However, if they're smart, they'll try to collapse the box, keep Hurts in the pocket, and force him to throw, and there's where we can do what few other teams can. If you take away our run game and say, "beat us with the pass," we can and will. Again, I think we are a matchup nightmare for au on both sides of the ball."

I knew the Auburn game and UGA game were coming. The only reason we beat Clemson so easily is because Clemson had their own JH at QB(can't throw downfield). Miss St tried blitzing but they left the middle of the field wide open and JH can hit those short passes...Auburn took away the middle of the field and forced Jalen to make throws on the sideline from the pocket and he just can't do it. Even after beating Clemson I did not feel good about the UGA game which was kind of strange.

My brain was telling me we would win because we normally dominate pro style offenses, they had a FR QB and you just can't out Alabama Alabama. Yet, my heart and my gut told me we would lose to UGA because I just knew JH couldn't make the throws to win a game like this.

We still live on planet Earth, ppl...and on planet Earth if your QB gets benched at half and the other guy(who happens to be a former 5* do it all QB) comes in and wins the game then from now on it's his job. Tua will start the game.

Good posters and knowledgeable people don't have to remind others of when they were right, or at least when they think they were right - they simply let their opinions stand on themselves. Because they regularly have good opinions. You are so terrible that you constantly feel the need to remind people of when you think you did something right.

And no one around here in 2016 was claiming that Jalen hurts was amazing. As a matter of fact, it's obvious to anyone with eyes that his timing was one second or two seconds behind everyone else in the entire offensive, and he could not throw a pass with timing to save his life. Everyone knew it. We just hoped he'd develop. Your just the type of fan that thinks nobody ever develops.

It wasn't any more apparent than that scene in Training Days when Deonte Thompson walked into the locker room from graduation in his cap and gown. Jalen was the first one there hyping him and hugging him.

In 2016 Jalen gave Bama something we've not had since the wishbone years with his ability to make things happen with his feet. The teams we played had grown so used to Nick's offense (other than Blake Sims) they knew what plays was coming. Those teams had to start working harder to come with a scheme to counter #2 ability to throw it a little and run it even better. In due time they learned as we did that throwing the ball was a challenge and they schemed to take away what he did best as well as the running game with 8 in the box. We're kind hung up in neutral with #2 as the Man. I doubt there is a Bama fan on the planet that wasn't hoping #2 would improve in his passing skills.

That scene was awesome.

You could tell how genuinely happy all of his teammates were for his accomplishment.

I loved his comment, too, (paraphrasing) "If you come to Alabama and fail, it's your fault."

It's my favorite scene in the series so far. Only scenes almost as good are any of them with Denzel Devall.

I do want to make something clear about our defense. They are very good but they are playing against an ELITE offense. I know we say that the people we face in practice are the best they will see all year, it’s actually true right now. I watched Tua throw a ball through a football size hole to Ruggs, it was unbelievable. I’m telling you, baring some crazy poor performance we are going to make a run.

Team will HAVE to back everyone out of the box against Tua and our OL and backs are elite.

Speaking of Ruggs, who do you think will be our best receiver this year? A lot of people are going with Jeudy, and you can’t go wrong there, but I actually think Ruggs may surprise some people and be our best wide out.

Word...

If #13 can do this then Bama's running game should hit another level. Hell even the dump off passes to the backs should go for good gains. We'll see.

Honestly there's no reason we don't average 40+ points per game with this offense against this schedule. This OL will give Tua time to find all his weapons and open up gaping holes for potentially two future first round backs (Damien is being mocked there for the next draft, though to be honest I think he ends up going 2nd round, I'd love to be wrong) with the two Harris boys, and Jacobs is no slouch. Tua can make yardage on the ground if absolutely needed.

And even when teams send pressure, between Tua's natural passing instincts and Coach Enos' coaching, I think we'll make teams pay for blitzing by finding guys like Waddle or Ruggs or Jeudy or take your fricking pick who can take a short throw to the house.

What's the benefit of publicly announcing the starter though? Other than appeasing the fans? I don't see one. It will be clear enough by the end of the Louisville game who the starter is.

My only "inside" source has said he's been the most impressive back this fall camp.
