serious consideration once NS decides to retire. Which I hope is not anytime soon.

I know it has been discussed but what he has done at UAB is incredible and that fact he is not leaving them shows he is not a job chaser. But should Bama come calling I think he would listen.

I am not even sure if Dabo would come home since he entire family has spent a lot of years at Clemson and he has made it a destination job. Why would he want to follow NS.

Just my opinion..

1st call would be Dabo.
2nd Call would be slimeball Kirby.
3rd call and who I think takes the Job is Jeremy Pruitt.

I don't even think that we'd call Kirby at all.

Kirby ain't even a consideration. I don't think Dabo is going to come. Pruitt is a wait and see as far as being a head coach. Who ever comes is going to lose more games than we are accustomed to, and will struggle mightily to win championships like we are accustomed to.

Why?

I don't want Kirby or Dabo, but I at least see why people think they would warrant a call, but what the hell has Pruitt done?

Why would Kirby leave his Alma mater?

No it won't. Kirby is in his dream job. He will never voluntarily leave Georgia.

Why not? He will never come, because he has the only job he ever wanted. But he has quickly built a top 4 program in the country. He legitimately has more upside right now than any coach in college football.

Who the hell wouldn't want that?

if Kirby wants the job no one at Bama would have to call him. His agent would reach out to the Bama AD. and I don't think that happens.

Dabo will be the first call. I don't believe they will reach out to Kirby and I don't believe he would reach out to Bama. Pruitt would try to get the job

I don't think Clark has a chance even though he's a very good coach. I just don't see Bama trying to hire UAB's coach. Plus, I believe he'll be Auburn's coach.

We should "pursue" Smart only to force UGA to pay him more $$$$. I hope we're not putting all of our eggs in Dabo basket. He strikes me as Bobby Bowden Part II.

My guess it will a young up and comer coach, prob. from Midwest/Ohio----somebody is akin to an offensive genius. There's only one Nick Saban.

Championship-caliber coaches are a commodity in college football.

The science is settled on Dabo. He’s at that level. Pay whatever it takes.

WTH would be wrong with the next Bobby Bowden? Have you noticed how well he did for 15-20 years at the former girls school?
Or are you afraid we’d bungle the hiring process?

IMHO, if we were replacing CNS tomorrow, I would hope the conversation would go, “Dabo do you want the job? Yes. Ok, put your agent back on the phone and start packing. We’ll get the details done with him. Planes on the way to Clemson now.

I'm talking about Bowden getting cold feet with the UA job. Why leave a good thing?

Bowden did not get cold feet. Bama called him in and he thought the job was his and they brought him in for an interview. He felt insulted and walked away. It was basically his dream job.

I have heard this talked about including a direct interview from Bowden.

I dont follow you. I don't remember Bowden getting cold feet. He came to Alabama to accept the job, and Joab and his group FUBAR'd the initial meeting by undergoing an interview process as if Bowden was some young inexperienced up and comer. I do remember Joab getting involved in a process he didn't understand because he didn't realize how important Bama football is to the campus and entire state.
