Take your pick. He is more athletic than either DE so playing there shouldn't be a problem. If it is insisted on that he stay in the middle then Dale needs to back him up. When you have guys that are as disruptive as he is you do what it takes to get them prepared and you let them anchor your DL.

No question that Barmore needs to be in the game as much as possible. He's disruptive and brings energy to a unit that honestly played with very little last night.

Barmore is a beast but he's still pretty raw. I've said it before on here even when Bama was recruiting him that he has one of the highest ceilings on the entire team. Kinda came out of nowhere because he played for a really small high school. His best football is in front of him.

I always love when fans are so positive they know more than the best college coach of this century.

Whatever he is, he plays with more intensity than anyone on our entire defense, and we need whatever we can get at this point. I don’t care if he gets a 15 yard penalty every game, this guy is worth it

yea, I would guess he might not be good against the run.

I would guess he might need to be double teamed.

Barmore recorded one tackle against Tennessee, no sacks, no QB hurries, no tackles for loss

Why in the hell is RD99 consistently at RE on 3rd and long? Nick has done stuff like this all the time and it drives me crazy. Years ago it was Pettway. Last year it was Buggs. With all the athletes we have, you can't tell me we can't do better than that in long yardage situations. There's got to be plenty of kids on the sideline with burst while I watch Raekwon take two steps and get stoned by the LT.

I don't want to hear about younger players not knowing the scheme. In long yardage situations your scheme is, "Son, go get the quarterback!"

It is absolutely ridiculous that Barmore isn’t playing more. I’ve been saying that since the first game he played in,when he had four tackles in a row. What’s even worse is that we have a 6’8” beast of a lineman that is soft as Charmin toilet tissue. He should destroy opponents. When he tackles someone it’s like he try’s not to hurt them. I’m tired of watching his scared arse!!

It is telling that Bama has 7 freshmen (including RS) that are actually in the starting mix on defense.

94,92,47,58(RS)
8,35,9

You can say boy these guys are great but is the real story the decline of the upper class players that should be playing ahead of these kids.

Saban has said the same thing himself. Sometimes guys leave the program a little early. It’s their call, but I’d like to think we would be in a better spot. Can’t factor in the injury bug.

I get flogged for bringing up the recruiting decline lately because "gah, they're all five stars!!"

20% of the class signed each year will not play a meaningful down in their career and that includes Nick Saban.

Agree, Barmore should be playing much more. Honestly, none of our DL are playing in a dominant fashion right now. Throw Barmore into the mix and let’s see what happens, Nick!

Saban is wrong and is misusing him. He has a history of poor personnel decisions so it isn't surprising. Barmore is our most explosive and disruptive lineman and it isn't close. We have just made excuses for the decision not to play him more. We have true freshmen getting more playing time than him so if they can know their assignment there is no reason Barmore can't be ready too...

Astonishing - some Bama fans - just astonishing. You are so clueless it's difficult to know where to start. Barmore is a wrong run fit ready to happen. Saban, the best evaluator in the sport according to some, has commented on his special ability as a pass rusher and disruptor, but has noted that he continues to frequently play rogue ball. Can't have that.

So, Nick has patiently developed CB to play his assignments while further developing his significant ability to disrupt. This is something that a great talent evaluator, a great teacher, one of the greatest NFL and college defensive minds of his era, this is what one would expect from the best college FB coach of all time. Thank you Coach. Hopefully, you will continue to masterfully, though imperfectly, present Mr. Barmore with more and more appropriate opportunities to show his cultivated restraint and inherent disruptive abilities, while shielding him from those circumstances that would be most damaging to the team. You've been great at it to this point - thanks again.

Of course the next time we hear from you on this topic, after CNS has brought CB along, you will be talking about his disruption without much rogue play, not realizing that the staff has been sifting the rogue play out of his game in practice and game situations. But you will say, "look there's no problem with his play, he's great just like I said", not realizing that they are not stupid enough to put him out there under any circumstances like you wanted. They put him in situations that he could best handle and where the risk/reward was optimal.

The OP is like an 8 year old who sees the "end" of his mom and dad "taking care of each other" and wondering why his dad is wearing his mom out and even more surprised that in the end she seems more than OK with it. You don't know what you are looking at and compound it with your insistence that you are smart, smarter than the greatest of all time. No wonder this fan base is seen as a gaggle of fools. You are a bad reflection on the entire fan base.

On the positive side there does not seem to be malice on your part - just ignorance coupled with arrogance.
