As an anecdote, I completely forgot about Coach Oats calling out Coach K for losing a few games and wanting to delay the COVID season.
Coach K got bent out of shape and Oats had to apologize.

They do not have a player shorter than 6'5. Just insane for a college roster.
Yeah seeing the lineup graphic felt like I watching NBA on tnt fr

I love all the disrespect we’re getting. All the pressure is on duke. Let’s send them packing

The media/general public have to have a team to bill as almost unbeatable. A few weeks ago, it was Auburn, then Florida, and now Duke is better than the 96 Bulls.
They're really good. But, they aren't in some league of their own.

Just like NC last year. We were supposed to get clobbered. I’m sick of hearing about it.
Duke has played almost no one, we are battle tested. Let’s get down to business.

Oats was still the new kid on the block.

Duke is really good. Their schedule is weak, but that doesn’t make them bad. They have length and the best player in college basketball. It will be a tough game.

I agree. These freshmen for Duke are not freshmen any more after a year playing. That being said, our depth can wear them out. AZ played them tough. If they go on a run, Nate has to use his timeouts.
They are definitely beatable.

Our biggest problem is their length. Sears and Holloway have both shown they have issues playing height, and they play 3 guards who are all 6'6.
Bama can absolutely win this game, we definitely won't be intimidated at the very least.
I would not be suprised if we have been saving Reid's minutes for this game to guard Flagg. They've played against each other a ton, and Reid can bother him. Stevenson tends to be too soft, but he definitely has the length, if he's having a good day, to do it too. MoD is a bit too stiff to stay with him.
Yeah, hope to see Reid on the floor some against all those trees. We need some defensive rebounds.

Their starters average age is 19.4 yrs. Ours is 22.0 yrs. Combine that with our SOS and we should have a serious maturity advantage: stamina, physicality, savvy, etc. We should be able to play smarter, more physical and get into their heads.

I agree that we have two if not three players who on paper matchup well defensively with Flagg. Mo D would be starting if I were Oats and I can’t wait to see how he does against the best player in CBB.
Cliff should also be a great neutralizer for Maluach.
I’m actually more concerned about their perimeter length (6’6 / 6’6 / 6’7) impacting our small guards ability to get clean looks outside. They’re big, athletic and have caused other teams major issues, not to mention the potential for them to use their size to out rebound us. There’s a very good reason they’re a top 5 defensive team in the nation.
They have the best roster in the sport, the best player and a lot of confidence, but Alabama is 100% capable of beating them if we can get to the rim and force them to become the Cooper Flagg show like we saw late against Zona when everyone just stood around watching him and their offense imploded as far as movement and scheme.
