Tons of misses at WR, OL, and DL over this time period.

I'm not so sure. I just think the coaching and routes were just THAT bad.

Put some of these receivers in the 2020 Bama offense or insert Pruitt as the DC last year with a veteran defense and I'm sure the differences would be astounding.

No doubt. We were spoiled beyond belief in 2019 and 2020 having Sark call plays. O'Brien was abysmal last year comparably speaking. No creativity at all. I don't want to think about how badly Golding shite the bed at times last year the way he called the defense.

I thought the OL played much better in 2022 but was hamstrung by play calling and design. Bama seemed to do fine when they lined up and ran the ball. The problem is lining up, staying in their stance for 10 seconds, then maybe run blocking or maybe pass blocking depending on what the QB was doing. If the OL knows they're running the ball from the get go they will block better. I expect more of that in 2023.

You know it's bad when an entire fanbase just expects the DC to screw it up when a game is close.

He should've been relieved of his duties after the LSU game. I just knew that we'd find a way to lose that one.

Right but BoB looked better with two nfl WRs in 2021. Golding looked better in 2021 with Mathis as an interior rusher.

Season was over at that point, no reason to can him before the offseason.

I would've fired him after UT. Worst performance by a Bama coordinator in the Saban era IMO.

If the only way you can consistently "look better" is if you have a brutally significant talent advantage then you are horrible at your job.

Golding and Bill O'Brien were horrendous. We could survive with Golding if we had a great OC... not with both of this idiots.

Yeah the Tennessee game was horrendous. Still, our team came back and had the lead only to be royally screwed by the officials on the 4th down play that would've iced the game essentially. Kool Aid picked it off and the game should have been essentially done. Let's not also forget the numerous times Tennessee defenders hit Bryce helmet to helmet and the officials nor the replay booth charged them with a targeting foul.

The Bama-UT game would've looked like the UGA-UT game had Pete Golding not left a safety with subpar coverage skills in man on a 4.4 slot WR the entire game. A JV football coach could see that was a horrible idea from the jump.

You replace Hellams with a DB and I think Bama wins by 14-17 points.

It was stupidity combined with a refusal to adapt combined with suicidal tendencies.

I'm honestly surprised that Saban did not replace Golding after the 2020 season. His defense was average most of that season. It was just overshadowed by the generationally great offense that we fielded. His lack of focus off the field getting a DUI should have been enough to warrant suspending him or something. The regression of inside linebacker play under him was alarming. Henry To'oto'o regressed under his watch. Not that To'oto'o was the next Reuben Foster by any means but he had high expectations when he transferred from Tennessee. I like the new hire, Robert Bala. He seems very focused and intense in the practice highlights.

Golding cost us two championships.

We gave up 41 to a decent Texas A&M offense in 2021. That was ridiculous. Granted one of the touchdowns was a kickoff return but the point remains. Hopefully our defense is focused on details and not confused like they have been at times the past few years.

I'm glad to hear that Milroe is looking good.

I saw some video of Tyson passing the ball yesterday as well and he throws a beautiful ball. Lots of zip, and accurate.

I think that we are in really good shape at the QB position regardless of who wins the job.

The LSU OT debacle was the nail in the coffin. Someone pointed out that only one Defensive Lineman was on the field the rest was LB’s on the front end. QB keeper to the right and basically went untouched to the EZ.

Kelly knew after that going for 2 was an easy call.

Me too. Would love for him to be a threat passing the ball. True dual threat guys are extremely hard to scheme against. I realize that both guys can run so we should be in good shape regardless.

Milroe is certainly looking good but we also have to remember that the defense is without several key players this spring. Morons like Stephen M. Smith will hype him up every chance they get despite knowing this.

1. Milroe is showing significant improvement due to advancing skillset, decision making, and pairing with a better OC
2. The defense is hobbled because several starters are out

Both of these statements can be true
