If you are anticipating them rushing three and dropping eight, you would run something shorter attacking soft spots in the zone. You wouldn't run deep routes that the opponents zone coverage easy blankets.

100% agree. I was being sarcastic trying to explain BOBs game plans . In addition to sitting in zones, you need to attack zones at different levels and putting zone defenders in conflict in which if they make a choice , it leaves somebody else in good position for a catch

Eboigbe's spot should be filled by J.Burroughs and Tim Smith or maybe one of several redshirt freshmen. Burroughs has shown some flashes as a pass rusher. But Eboigbe stood out to me more as a run stuffer on early downs.

Not sure how they view Damon Payne positional.

I'd hoped Khurtis Perry or Jeremiah Alexander might help a little as reserve pass rushers. They may need to put on some more weight and get stronger before they're ready?

Anoma is playing well for Michigan too. He really turned his life around which is good to see.

Bill O'Brien is coaching amateurs using pro concepts. Which is great if it works but clumsy and unnecessary if it doesn't. Think about Tennessee for a second. How do they get the ball snapped so fast? They only have about 6 or 7 unique plays. But they run them quickly and precisely and they don't overthink anything. Players play fast when they know what they're doing. John Doe likes to say it's chess not checkers. I'd add a caveat. Sometimes it's checkers.

I will say there were open passes for Bryce last week that he was just not seeing.

That said, if your system doesn't work with a returning Heisman trophy winning QB your system doesn't work.

worked last year when he won the Heisman. I am putting some of the blame on the WR's and some on his shoulder.

OB's system can work. It takes multiple players that can process really fast. You really have to have it together above the shoulders. Bryce has it. Our receivers aren't there yet. If you watch Sunday football, you see a very similar offense being run by Tampa. And even they struggle to get it going with 30 year old receivers and a quarterback who's been playing longer than most of our guys have been alive.

What exactly worked? Once Jamo leave the game (See A&M and Georgia) we literally look like dogshit.

So what exactly was working? Bryce heaving long balls to Jamo who is a seasoned 1st round talent faster than everyone?

What or throwing 50/50s to Metchie who is a seasoned possession receiver?

Where is the system? Where is the gameplan? Why is it okay for our OC to be an idiot?

2021 was very strange.

Stage 1: Metchie and Williams explode at WR, offense is explosive but run game is highly suspect
Stage 2: UT/LSU/AU the offense dies completely in part due to the OL, but also questionable play calling against pressure
Stage 3: SECCG offense explodes
Stage 4: Without Metchie and Williams offense cant function again

The this year OL is greatly improved when Seth is in there, but the WR's are up and down and we aren't consistent at running the ball.

No rhythm to the offense at all this year, but it feels like it could click on any given weekend.

None of these receivers would be starters on teams from the last 3-4 years

Well yeah, there aren't many WRs in college right now that would have.

Burton > Slade Bolden

Otherwise agreed, but I think Bond/Prentice/Law have incredible potential.
