Yes, we should. At least to number 2. I'd put us at 3 behind OSU. Yes, I know they struggled with ND who just lost and Texas is probably better than both those teams. But we were very fortunate to come out with a win today

Don’t care where we’re ranked. Hate to be a pessimist but it’s a matter of time before this group loses a game or two. 2010 written all over it. Probably happens first in Fayetteville. No one should mistake the Texas defense for elite or even upper echelon in college football. This was the Auburn game all over again. Our superstar QB bailed out our lame duck play caller at the end of the game with a miraculous scramble. A scramble where our right tackle held the shite out of their end btw.

It’s frustrating man, because we’ve got some dudes. Think the only thing that can bail us out at this point is for one of Bond, Earle, Anderson, Law, Harrell to come on as a prodigy and open this offense up. We’ve got good receivers, but they aren’t create separation on their own receivers and the guy drawing up plays can’t scheme them open. It’ll continue to be a struggle and is relying on our defense to force field goals and our QB to pull a rabbit out of the hat

Very curious what happened to all the RPO plays in our playbook. I've seen BY running them in practice videos, but I don't think I saw a single RPO play called yesterday.

Those RPO slant plays killed opponents and yet we seem to have abandoned them.

I also would have loved to see some attempts to go deep. Doesn't even have to be successful, but a three-step fade or five-step post helps keep the defense from crowding the LOS. Heck, maybe even throw a YOLO pass like Texas did a couple times to draw the defensive PI.

Yeah that doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzies inside. Something just seems off with this team.

I mean, we could have beaten Utah State 120-0. I'm not sure how them being horrid changes anything.

Let's everyone just take a deep breath here and not panic. Even with our better receivers last years, Bama has not played well away from home, except at neutral sites. Last year we beat Florida by 2, Auburn by 2 and lost to TAM by 3 in away games. The only game we dominated away was Miss. State. The coaches did not commit the penalties. They didn't drop the passes or miss the blocks. Most of you have never coached, but you seem to know what coaches should do. Most have never played, but you know what players should do. Everyone has the right to your opinion, but that doesn't mean you are correct. It's a long season, let's be supportive. Thanks for listening and ROLL TIDE

I've never been president either. Your argument is bullshite. The coaches are responsible for some of the issues, including poor execution by the players. Execution comes from preparation and the preparation is handled by the coaching staff.

Well, when when looking for bright spots from the win, maybe the spots aren't so bright, given the level of competition. Utah State beat Connecticut the week prior to the Bama game, and didn't look completely terrible; but, maybe Connecticut will show they are actually not very good.

The luster of Alabama's lopsided win waned a bit with Utah State's Weber State loss.

Not sure where your confusion sets in.

BOB hates slants with every fiber of his being, is the only possible conclusion at this point. Kidding but using them more regularly (or, like, at all, in some games) would've been massively helpful last year too.

The thing about stuff like this is that a lot of people can tell that BOB isn't making adjustments or even attempting to play into our strengths or throw a defense off the trail of his preferred scheme, and when that gets pointed out, you might think that the fixes are probably kind of tricky or complicated or would require a pretty good offensive mind, but they don't. At least, not totally. Some really simple stuff could really help us out and get defenses away from blanketing us and closing off everything we want to do.

Please enlighten us. It's Sunday morning. I'd love to hear why you think the coaches get a pass for yesterday. But save the crap about "you don't know if you haven't been a coach" for another day.

I think it's become pretty black and white at this point

BoB can plan and gameplan pretty effectively. It's not perfect, but he does a solid job.

BoB is as bad at adjusting to a defense that shows new or different looks than he schemed for (LSU last year, Texas) or us being unable to execute the plan he put together (Auburn) as any OC we've ever had. He just doesn't do it. I don't even see evidence that he makes an attempt.

I think most of America was being Saturday early afternoon OCs yesterday as we had 14 yards in 6 straight possessions.

Including the head coach, who specifically noted "better planning" when discussing the issues with the offense.
